Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Wonderful place to stay. Anne and her family were very welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was a real bonus. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Comfortable purpose built gites in a small complex within the owners property- lovely setting and nice and peaceful. Anne was very friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was in her lovely home - lots to like!

We loved the hosts. There was nothing that was too big of an ask. There were many thoughtful moments such as them popping out to the pool to ask if we wanted coffee. They also provided us with 3 bikes to be able to explore Vertou

Easy access from the airport. Parking on site and stunning room with real attention to detail. Really nice bathroom and it was a nice touch having bottled water waiting for us in the bedroom's fridge!

United KingdomWe have informed the owner of the property about our rating and they have not even given an apology. 1. It was mentioned entire house . Hence why I booked your place just to have access to the kitchen due to my mother situation and difficulties which impact us massively . If guests are not allowed to use the kitchen the photo of the kitchen should be removed . This was misled us . I could book rooms in a hotel . 2. If you are giving your guests towel you need to ensure they are washed and cleaned and please respect people do not give them old or worn off towels. 3. The dressing gown for hot tub should be clean and please check the right sleeve you will see the hole. Please respect your guests . people are not coming to pay for their vacation and treated by the second-hand items. 4. If you call the hot tub ,spa please clean the area and collect these broken items. 5. Please check your fridge and clean it. 6. The kettle and coffee machine were on a shelve so unsafe and uncomfortable to use them . The water pot was dirty and full of limescale . We stay 4 days and had coffee once . It wasn't even provided . Water bottles are so basic that they are not provided . 7. It is not too expensive to provide shampoo and body wash . 8. No dressing table 9. In such a weather you can not expect people sitting outside to eat . You may noticed that we keep dragging the garden table inside the room to have dinner or lunch. 10. The other room bedding, mattress sheet had shoes stamp mark on it when you clean the room you haven't even change it . People spending money to go on holiday to stay somewhere nicer and clearer than their own place . We had extremely difficult holiday due to all I mentioned I don't even say anything about power cut. That night we couldn't sleep due to being worried if mum would have a fall in dark room. Thank you
