Great facilities - well equipped kitchen, lovely shower and coffee machine. Everything was clean and thoughtfully laid out. A beautiful outdoor space as well with a terrace, garden with fruit trees and hot tub. Baptiste was very friendly and helpful and responded quickly to any requests. The area is quiet and peaceful with the nearest town a couple of miles away. Very reasonably priced.

Only thing I can think of is it would have been nice if there was milk in the fridge to go with the coffee that was available.

Such a delightful and charming property in a tranquil setting not far from Calais. Beautifully decorated with such carefully thought touches. Baptise was great at communicating and couldn’t do more for you. Special touch with the heated out door tub.

Le Sommelier is in a stunning location in the countryside on the edge of Bailleul. The gardens are beautiful, serene and very picturesque! The house is very tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Baptiste was so helpful and easy to contact. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!! All locally produced. We wished we had stayed longer. It was exceptional!

We had a wonderful stay at Le Sommelier in Bailleul, just near the Belgian border. Our upstairs room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and overlooked a lovely garden. It shared a common area—including a kitchen—with one other room, which made the stay feel both homely and private. Baptiste, the host, was welcoming and helpful, and kindly stored our bicycles securely in the garage. A standout feature was the ability to purchase a selection of beautifully curated French wines and local beers from the shared space—a thoughtful and unique touch. The location is quiet and charming, perfect for exploring the region on foot or by bike. 10/10 – Stylish, comfortable, and full of character. A perfect stop near the border.

Transport is needed to get any food in the town 10 mins drive away, sadly the restaurant within walking distance wasn’t open when we went and neither was the second one

The venue, host, breakfast, facilities and room were excellent. The location is rural and very peaceful. Breakfast is a lovely selection of home/locally produced fare. Baptiste is a lovely host and delivers breakfast to you, sadly we have not met his wife. We have stayed before and would definitely stay again.

Baptiste is amazing and very helpful. The dinner, if you choose to have it, is an absolute recommendation. The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast was very nice, just a bit more diversity would be nice. The two 2-person rooms share a little kitchen area, so you might not eat alone when you decide to eat at the location. And last, but definitely not least, the homemade pastry and desserts from Bepatiste’s wife are absolutely fabulous.

Everything we needed, thank you. Used the hot tub on arrival - lovely way to relax after a long cycle. We chose the additional breakfast - homemade breads, yoghurt, granola, local cheeses and applejuice and condiments. Second evening, we opted for the 6 course taster menu with a flight of wines and non alcoholic drinks (needing to be able to cycle the next day!). Baptiste (le sommelier) and his cousin (chef) hosted us a delightful evening of delicious food (with a nod to Japanese flavours) and drinks. Baptiste educated our pallets as we explored different wines to pair with the food. What a wonderful treat. Thank you.

All practically perfect. Although there is a wonderful big fridge , there is no freezer compartment. This is just for information. Seems churlish to mention it when everything was so , so lovely.

The house was beautifully appointed. Breakfasts were wonderful and Baptiste was a caring host. The hot tub was a bonus and nothing was too much trouble for him. Some good restaurants just a short car ride away and lovely countryside in both France and Belgium.

I wish it weren't just a one-night stop for us, it seemed like a place I could spend a few days. Check-in was smooth and contactless with the key in a locked box. There were bathrobes in the bathroom, which I think is nice.

Baptiste is an excellent host - friendly, enthusiastic and gave me great pointers on fun things to do. The location is quiet and comfortable. The rooms are well outfitted, clean. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh bread and homemade jelly as well as a variety of regional products. Bonus points for the hot tub - very enjoyable way to end the evening.
