Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe stairs going up to our room very difficult for someone with mobility challenges. Also, not really any service from the guesthouse itself, but assistance was available from the nearby place to check-in

AustraliaThe bathroom was tiny but for one night we didn’t care!
The room was small but it didn’t matter as we just brought what we needed in a back pack and left the cases in the car overnight! The communication with the hotel was excellent and the staff at reception were amazing! Don’t bring your big bags! The parking in P3 was great as we only had to walk 20m to the bus!

SwitzerlandThe room (301) was tiny for 2 people. It was impossible to have 2 open suitcases on the floor while being able to open the doors. The shower, toilet and sink were very tight too.
location on Mont St Michel, clean room. Breakfast was good too.

AustraliaPretty basic accommodation and room was ready late (probably due to the wonderful late check out!)
The location was excellent with check out not until 11.30 which allows plenty of time to exlore the mont. Walking around without the crowds is a must.

United StatesSmall room and bathroom in a very old Building. There was a heat wave and no AC. Had to go to the separate check in hotel to request a fan. Went back a few hours later and picked it up. Gulls kept us up all night as windows needed to be open.
Mont St Michel is an amazing place.

Location is excellent. Very basic, very small room. Clean. Prepare for very basic accommodation but great for a 1 night stay to enjoy Mont Saint Michel without too many tourists.

IrelandIt's hard to get somewhere to eat in the evening as it's so busy and everywhere closes at 9/9.30 sharpe
At the end of the day, you don't stay on Mont Saint-Michel if you are looking for 5* action with pool etc. The Island is small, full of history and very quirky. It's a beautiful place that is a must-visit, along with Skellig Island, in Co Kerry, Ireland... If you are running late, or looking for a late beer, this may not be the place for you, as everything shuts down at 9/9.30 pm unless you know the staff. All the people working on the Island are very hard-working and nice people who are flat out from start to finish on the main street.

United KingdomParking was difficult. We parked in a public car park for 22 Euros for less than 24 hours. That also wasted a lot of time.
Room was clean and well-proportioned.

ItalyThe bed and the bathroom were clean. But the carpet on the floor was full of big dark stains. It seems like they haven’t changed the carpet for ages. For a room that’s €200 plus a night, they really need to change that carpet. Because it makes you feel like you’re walking into a shaggy place.
The location is great. It is easy to reach. Close to restaurants and gift shops.

IrelandAccording to their ads, they had free wifi. We had no wifi. If we stood in the window just right we could get a little internet access from a store across the street. So if access is important to you, this might not be the place to stay. The tv is tiny, but why go to a place like this and watch tv? We didn't turn it on, so... The guy who checked us out was an absolute jerk. He was helping other tourists who had a lot of questions. We hadn't incurred any other expenses, and we needed to hit the road to catch the ferry home. There was a basket on the counter with other keys in it, and I assumed it was for express checkout, so I left the key in it and turned to leave. He slammed the basket back down on the counter, removed my key and slammed it on the counter, and yelled that I would just have to wait like everyone else. I get it, working in the service industry is frustrating as heck, but his behavior was beyond the pale. I won't be returning after that kind of behavior. We weren't in the actual hotel, and the site was a little shabby. But hey, it's a medieval structure in a singular place on the planet. We're glad we stayed.
We were staying on Mount Saint Michel!!! The location was great, and it was nice to have a place to relax after the challenge of all those stairs. The room was small, but it had everything we needed, and it was quite comfortable. The staff that checked us in were lovely and helpful. It's really lovely to be on the island when it isn't completely overwhelmed with crowds of tourists.

GermanyOur room was at the main road. At night it is quiet, but early in the morning (6 AM - 7 AM) it gets very loud because they move goods on carts on a cobbled road. The check in counter is in another building and the breakfast is also in another building. The price was very high because it is on the island. But it is a nice experience to stay on the island and we would recommend that. We do understand that it is a very old building and the room was nicely renovated but it was very very very small!
The breakfast was good. The restaurant we had breakfast in has a nice view. The room was nicely renovated. Staff was friendly and helpful.

United StatesPaid too much for this room, the value just wasn't there. We understand that this was a premier location to visit and that comes with a cost, however, the room was only worth half what we paid. The room was tiny, floor was spotty, bathroom was too small, hard to move around in, bathroom door hit the bed, window would not open. Unfortunately, if you want to stay here you have to pay the price. They need to do better.
The location was awesome, we spent the night on Mont St Michel! We have a story to tell about staying on such an historic location. So happy we were able to do that. Breakfast was good and parking and transport to the island was easy.
