Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe staff was on his phone texting and laughing while attending me, taking long before responding and prioritizing his chat, which was annoying but funny. The shower had a leak and made the surroundings wet, there was way too little shampoo and shower gel.
room and view from it, with a nice window. Water temperature in the shower was nice, bed was ok

IrelandBuilding was a bit old and our room was smelling moldy. Some of the beds were no comfy, could barely moved otherwise was getting worse to find a good position for sleep. Also shower was good, but was full of mold on the walls.
Location was very good. Close to metro line 12 and 4, restaurants and sacre coeur. In general was good stay for money, staff very friendly as well, to be honest I was expecting a worse experience based on comments but it was ok. Specially because we stayed more outside and only came back to sleep. note our room was family room 307.

United KingdomThe place needs a lot of love. chipped paint, bannister almost falling off and graffiti on the light fittings in our room. The room is also incredible badly configured- we had a family room and the toilet was next to the pillows by the double bed but to wash your hands, you had to then walk across the room to the shower room. The door to the shower opened into the window and I got a bruise trying to squeeze my way between them. It was fine for 3 nights but I would recommend paying more for a longer stay.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the location is superb- walkable from Gare du Nord, a short walk to Sacre Coeur and Monmartre and 2 metro stops nearby . It was a comfortable, clean and convenient place to stay. There was also a games room that looked really cool and they provide breakfast for an additional fee, but we didn't take advantage of these facilities.

United KingdomLocation was the best part if this place, I booked the family room in this Hostel which happened to be on the 6th floor with just a tight spiral staircase to climb up. The staff were nice and helpful but very poor water pressure and not hot water just cold wasn't great. As I say the location is good plenty of food and bar options near buy and lots to see and a very close metro station. Not for me but I think some it will suffice.

RussiaMy family and I took two rooms, and one of them had a kettle and a shower, but the other didn't have a kettle, and although it had a shower, it didn't have a shower head. I can't say it was particularly clean, but since we only needed to stay for one night, it was fine.
It was cheap. Nice and convenient location

PakistanThe negatives are: (1) The property is old and worn out but in the price it is perfect. (2) the check-in is a little problematic because even at 3.30 pm you can be told that the room isn’t ready and will take another 40/50 mins to be made. (3) it has no elevators and so if you are on the upper floors, it is very hectic to climb. (4) Paris has become hot in the June/July and living on upper floors particularly on the 5th is very difficult without an AC. However, the hotel provides an in room fan and the ventilation is good because of large windows.
The property has many positives: (1) it is very cheap compared to other properties. (2) the rooms are spacious with a private bath. (3) In the rates, it is cleaned once every two days. (4) it is close to the metro station namely Jules Joffrin (5) the property is old Parisian style. (6) lots of great supermarkets and food places nearby.

PortugalThe location is amazing—there are plenty of cute cafés and brunch spots nearby, which made exploring the neighborhood a real highlight. Unfortunately, the stay was not restful. The doors don’t extend fully to the floor, so it’s very easy to hear everything happening in the hallway and stairwell. People shouting and jumping on the stairs throughout the night made it almost impossible to sleep. Additionally, the bathroom wasn’t clean, and one of the towels provided was dirty, which was disappointing. Overall, it could be a decent choice if you're prioritizing location and don’t mind a lot of noise at night—but if you're looking for a quiet, restful stay, this might not be the best option.
