Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is absolutely stunning, so comfortable and the location simply cannot be beaten. I loved Carcassonne and fully intend to return - especially to Le Logis Des Ramparts.

The host met us at the property with a little welcome gift (a bottle of wine and some basics in the fridge). The house is wonderful and right in the middle of things. Even though it’s only a two minute walk from the centre of town it’s really quiet through the day and the evening if you want to rest in the garden.

A perfect place to stay while exploring Carcassonne. The location was ideal, the hosts were very friendly, the accommodation is stylish and comfortable, and the garden was lovely to relax in. Would highly recommend.

United StatesThe google map to the place was frankly wrong (a narrow, steep dirt path to nowhere at the end). I realize this is not the duty of the owner, but knowing that the map app is grossly wrong should prompt the owner to include specific details about which gate to enter the city from, and how to get there (walk, city bus and where,or arrange taxi in advance). It was 90 degrees out and the walk from the train station took almost an hour instead of half hour due to the erroneous google map. Also know that getting from the train station to medieval town is not simple regardless (except perhaps by private auto). Walk (see above) or find bus (need to cross river to main street—not at all apparent from the train station). There are no taxis at stand, and getting one after the train pulled in was a wait of two hours. Terribly served train station for transport to medieval city. No air conditioning or fans in home. This is going to be a problem for people in summer. It was low 90’s early June for us for a couple days. Downstairs was tolerably cool enough, but upstairs was barely tolerable at night. Need at least fans for hot weather.
Easy access to narbonnaise gate, and main streets of town, although town is quite small and staying anywhere inside ramparts would be fine. Beds comfy, amenities sufficient for stay (soap, tp, a few teabags and coffee pods,a welcome bottle of wine was nice), one br is on first floor, the other two are up steep spiral staircase. There is also a half bath on ground floor. Lovely outdoor terrace with umbrella.

United StatesFantastic flat right in the center of everything within the walls of the city. Very clean, comfortable and a beautiful outside sitting area. Within walking distance of the entire city. Would absolutely rent there again. Included free parking was nice, but there is a little bit of a walk to get to the flat but well worth the effort.

United KingdomVery limited food choices as a vegetarian, both in restaurants, and in general. No buses on Sunday left us the choice of walking 2 kilometres into the town or getting a taxi, and the process of needing to phone for a taxi was not well communicated.
It's absolutely fantastic staying in a medieval city, quaint, enchanting and small enough to learn your way around, even during a short stay. The hosts are extremely friendly, completely satisfied our every request, responded quickly to queries online and by mobile, and left us wine, milk, and jam as a welcome gift. The location is stunning, and the house is well maintained. The Chateau Comtal visit was very interesting, had good information at each exhibit, and catered well for different languages. The city would be rather chaotic with visitor numbers if it was high season (our visit was end October) and it's worth noting that walking up the steep paths is tiring, especially for older visitors.

United StatesThe weather decided to become gloomy and we couldn’t enjoy the garden as much as we’d wanted. A rough hike from the train station. Get a cab.
Perfect, cute little two bedroom home in Carcassonne. It had everything we needed and we wished we could stay longer. My sister talked about this place for the rest of the trip. Serge and Marie were perfect hosts. I will dream of this cute place.
