Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOnly wish we could stay longer. Booking.com or host should provide instructions for arrival as you can’t easily drive to the hotel without a code.
Beautiful, artfully designed common spaces and rooms, with lots of natural and creative elements. Great location at the harbor. Jerome, the proprietor, was welcoming, good natured and helpful when we arrived. Provided guidance on free overnight parking not too far from hotel.

AustraliaA beautiful property located on the port. So well presented, with great interior styling! Fantastic breakfast available. Our room had everything we needed, including a large bathroom with rain shower. We also had a very beautiful view of the port from our room.

Loved our stay at Le Lanternon and will definitely return (hopefully next year)! The hotel is superb and the general theme throughout is that everything is to a high standard & good quality (it's very cool)! We opted for breakfast a couple of the days and was lovely. Although there wasn't coffee in the room, Jerome advised we could get a tea/coffee from the dining room downstairs so did this regularly using the machine and nice collection of mugs! The location is the best it could be for us personally, it's situated right on the port and our room overlooked the whole port, it was beautiful. The best part was the balcony/lantern at the top of the hotel that you are able to reserve for an hour or so in the evenings. It was the perfect engagement spot!!! :) Look forward to returning next year, thank you Jerome.

United KingdomHad to park outside the village and carry bags a way to the hotel. Would have been nice to get an access code to at least drop off the bags even if we had to park outside.
Gorgeous spot in a fabulous old fishing port. Very nice and helpful couple as hosts in a beautiful old house restored with great taste and a little humour - we absolutely loved it. Very nice breakfast.

United KingdomParking was not possible in the street outside and although you can drop off your bags at the door a car park 300m away costs 32 euros a day. On the other hand if you don’t mind a stroll, the Cible car park is free and the bonus is the Cible Restaurant which is excellent with tables facing the sea.
Everything. The position is near the port which is beautiful. We had a view from our lovely room , Hemingway, of the cobbled street and the port. However if you want it quieter ask for a garden view room. The garden is an oasis of calm and breakfast is served here if weather permits. Our room was spacious with a very large comfortable bed and large bathroom and good shower.

United StatesLe Laternon is a home and an adventure in one. Everywhere you turn you are comforted and delighted by what you see and feel. From the incredible art works on the walls to the perfectly worn wood and finders linens….. it was difficult to tear myself away to venture outside. I imagine coming back in the wintertime. And Autumn, and spring….again and again.

United KingdomIt just didn’t have those extra touches of other places we’ve stayed in and it was one of the most expensive. Tea/coffee only available downstairs and not in the room, told not to use it at breakfast time (if we didn't order breakfast) or after 8pm. Exactly the time you’d like to have a hot drink. Breakfast was €25 pp extra, so we didn't bother. Communication with the host was ok but not that helpful. We were directed to a carpark which was €35 a day, I’d recommend looking for other options which did seem available. The rooms were sparse with no useful information about the area, just half a carafe of tap water. Rooms were well decorated but plaster was hanging off the bathroom ceiling and there was some black mould in the shower - both should have been fixed.
Stylish, character property with lovely garden and excellent location.
