Very friendly and hospitable. Virginie and Pascal made me feel at home. It was a very relaxing stay. The room at the top of the house was so comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Virginie's homemade jams and marmalade was delicious.

Pascal and Virginia absolutely did their best to welcome us. One thing to consider is that you are in a private home although they completely respected our privacy. You do need to coordinate with them when you need to come and go.

Our hosts were lovely and very accommodating. Their home is nicely decorated and gave us a feel for a local home in Calais. Breakfast was wonderful with homemade jams and fresh croissants, coffee and tea to our specifications. We couldn’t have asked for more. The room is on the 2nd floor (3rd to Americans) with steep step, but Pascal insisted on carrying our bags up for us.

The host was wonderful. They both were very friendly and kind. Allowed me to use his garage to keep my motorcycle secure. The breakfast was served with lots of attention. There was lot of choice. The host even helped us carrying our luggage down to the bike. They both stayed with us while we were loading and waved us good bye. Would definitely stay there on our future trips to Europe.

We were greeted at the door by a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and totally at ease. This was Virginie and Pascal and whilst Virginie entertained us in the living room, Pascal carried our luggage up three flights of stairs. Also, as we took a shower, Pascal booked an excellent restaurant nearby and even walked us to it so we couldn't go wrong. The next morning, we were presented with a most excellent breakfast at a time that accorded with our ferry check-in time. This breakfast included their own exquisite homemade jams and marmalades, and Pascal had gone out that morning for fresh bread and cheeses that were well chosen for quality. Car parking was outside the door but, Pascal offered us the use of his private site around the other side of the house. This bed and breakfast is exactly what good accommodation should be and is run by a couple who care about their reputation and offer what they would expect themselves. Consequently, I have no hesitation in highly recommending Le Clos Des Mouettes. Well done Virginie and Pascal.

Such a lovely property. Pascal and Vivienne were fabulous hosts and super nice people. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, cheese, cold cuts, bread, cereal and crepes. Their home is beautifully decorated. What more could you ask for ☺️

We had a pleasant stay in this very nicely, comfortably furnished and optimally located home. Only minutes away from the town centre and car ferry. Pascal and Virginie were very attentive, friendly, welcoming hosts, always ready to help with advice on directions and restaurants. The best praise we can give is to say that we would always stay here again the next time we're in Calais

We didn’t like leaving.

A great place to stay. Wonderful welcome, nothing too much trouble. Free and easy parking. Perfect, quiet location by a beautiful church & near a park. 5 minutes easy walk and you are in a lively square full of bars and restaurants of all types. We enjoyed it here for dinner and next day for afternoon drinks. Another 5 minutes you’re at the sea front. Our room was large, calm, comfortable, beautifully decorated and fitted out, the shower room too, spotless, as was the rest of the house. Lovely quality fittings and bed linen. Even the fan was first rate, as was the WiFi. It was up two flights of stairs, so may not suit those with limited mobility. I believe there are rooms on a lower floor. Great care taken with everything; we valued the booklet highlighting restaurants worthy of a visit. Breakfast was fantastic, I could write a whole paragraph just on that. So much choice and quality food. Pascal’s pancakes just wow and equally Virginie’s preserves. The best breakfast we’ve ever eaten in a French B and B. We didn’t eat again until evening. Great value stay. We usually just pass through Calais but wanted a more in-depth visit & very much enjoyed it. Great for long, flat walks. Le Clos des Mouettes will be our go to now when we stay in Calais. Class.

• the seagulls could be annoying in the morning (it’s probably a common problem in the area) • it would be convenient if we have a bigger table. • the light of Wi-Fi router might bother when you are sleeping, but you can simply unplug it.

• it’s absolutely pleasure living together with the owners who have been so considerate and nice to you. • location is perfect, though Calais is also not quite big. It’s also a good choice if you just transfer to ferry here • nice breakfast!

It was quite difficult to find as there is no obvious sign … not surprising really as this is their home 😊

The room was beautiful and exceptionally clean. Attention to detail was superb! The couple were very friendly and welcoming. Our bags were carried to our room (2 floors up) Breakfast was amazing especially the homemade conserves …. A great choice for all tastes! My husband was able to put our motorbike securely locked away in their garage. The property is within walking distance of some lovely restaurants and a pretty park.

Calais is a busy place and possibly not the prettiest town in France, but it is where the ferry terminal is, so don't go looking for majestic Chateaux here. Instead, you'll find a wonderful B+B with off street parking, lovely hosts and an amazing continental breakfast. The location is straightforward to find and a very short walk from a whole range of restaurants and bars. Can't recommend highly enough.

Room was on second floor with quite steep stairs. Wifi failing at times.

Accommodation was ideal for a short stay. Bedroom and bathroom facilities without fault. The breakfast was more than adequate with a variety food and drink and although continental, we had hot crepes.
