Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaThe room was on the small size, but worked for us.
The welcome we had from our host was exceptional as was his knowledge of the area and its history. He was happy to pass on this knowledge which certainly helped us plan our stay and excursions to get the best effect. The breakfast was stunning with fresh breads and pastries, cheeses, teas and excellent coffee - a great spread and accompanied by good conversation and tips from the host and happy to provide attention to the very friendly dog "snook" The large gardens and space were appreciated as well as the pool, which provided a refreshing break after a day out We were traveling with bikes, so it was easy to get in and out of town very quickly

Canada2 nights stay isn't enough, 3 nights would be much better. If anything, the stairs to the rooms on the second floor wouldn't work for all people, but worked for us all right.
First of all - the wonderful host! We've got geo, history, wine, French food and other lessons together with the very comfortable stay! We stayed only 2 nights at the end of April, we walked everywhere we wanted in Amboise by foot from the place. Breakfast, the history of the place itself, the surrounding area - all very inviting.

United KingdomGreat location to centre of Amboise, opposite Clos De Luce museum and many other local attractions to explore. Thibaut, our host, was friendly and welcoming and ensured our stay was a great one. Perfect long-weekend destination and/or stop-off for those on route from the UK to South of France (or vice versa!)

AustraliaIf I were to be picky I would say that there is not much space left after 2 pieces of luggage. But honestly it is otherwise perfect and a lovely oasis.
The land that this property sits on and the building is beautiful. The host is warm, friendly and passionate about the home and Loire Valley and generous with his knowledge and suggestions of places to see. Breakfast is of high quality ingredients and generous. The pool is clean and a perfect temperature. We swam everyday. We walked into town. It is a lovely location. I would not hesitate in recommending this accommodation.

NetherlandsIt was perfect. The bed is a bit on the firm side, but that’s more a personal taste.
Great stay in a wonderful location! Thibaut has turned a longtime abandoned house into a welcoming paradise. The garden with swimming pool is lovely for relaxing in all quietness. We really enjoyed breakfast with traditional French pastries. Thibaut is a great host and had many good tips for restaurants and things to see in the neighbourhood. It was great that he recommended to us to visit the castle Chenonceaux, which was amazing. We stayed in the gite which was charming and comfortable. It is a pleasant 20 minute stroll to the city centre (or 5 min by car). Would definitely recommend to stay here and we hope to be back some time. Au revoir !

United StatesNothing it was perfect!
The host that owes the property has exceptional knowledge of the area. He is well organized and makes sure all your needs are met. If I travel back to this area again it will be the ONLY place I stay. The location is back away from the street on a large compound. Its easy to walk to the downtown area. Other attractions by car are no more than a hour away at the very most.

United KingdomOur host, Thibaut, could not have been more friendly or informative about things to see, places to eat and the history of his property, which we found fascinating. We enjoyed learning about local wine and whether to ask for Pain au Chocolat or Chocolatine! Breakfasts were amazing and informal, so we met lots of interesting people and we were very sad to leave. We shall have to improve our French before we go again so that we can try the puzzles that Thibaut has devised and maybe be able to work out the code for the mystery box! It is a unique place to stay. Last but not least, the bed was very comfortable and the surroundings lovely and quiet.

New ZealandThe outside staircase is steep and you need to be physically able to reach your room.
The house and garden is lovely and has a fascinating history. Our host was so informative and interesting but also wonderfully enthusiastic about his home and having people from all over the world there to talk together over the delicious breakfast every morning. Unfortunately it was chilly while we were there but the pool looked great.
