Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Easy to find and good parking, very close to town, very friendly owner Joel. He was Very informative about the town and the wines. Excellent breakfast on the terrace. Very peaceful place. Great kitchen and living-room. Ideal for longer stays for people who want to cook and not eat out every night.

United StatesFor our room, the toilet was at the entrance. It was a very bizarre setup where you had to go through the toilet to get to the bedroom. Not all rooms are like this though so check ahead.
As described. The location was great to visit the region.

United KingdomThe door of the room opened in to the bathroom and not the bedroom. Not really a problem.
Close to the top entrance to Riquewihr with good parking. Breakfast on the terrace with the other guests and hosted by the owner Joel was lovely.

United KingdomThe b&b is "rustic" with mixed old and new decor. Would have preferred separate facilities, eg kettle, fridge, air con, but it would not stop us from returning as Joel was so helpful.
Joel was an excellent and attentive host. He spoke excellent English, making us feel very welcome. He recommended several restaurants with home cooked food, and we ate very well at D'Brendelstub, a short walk from the b&b The bed was very comfortable, shower facilities clean and modern. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with home made croissants and local cheeses, served outside on a covered terrace. Thank you Joel for a pleasant stay.

At first glance I wondered "why don't we stay in the old town?", Then I understood that the place is only three minutes by foot to the main street with all the lovely buildings and restaurants in old Riquewihr. Great breakfast with lokal cheese, fresh bread and croissants from lokal bakery. Very nice rooms. Very nice owner who told us everything worth to be told.

United KingdomVery friendly and helpful staff. I arrived late and all restaurants were closed, and they offered me a simple dinner for free. They needed cash only payments for checkout, which I didn’t have, so Joel offered to drive me to the ATM, which happened to be close to the bus stop, so I just said goodbye to him there.

LithuaniaI would recommend to serve breakfast an hour earlier or at least at the given hour. This time breakfast was served a little too late. I would, also, recommed to include less sugary versions to the French breakfast.
The host was very friendly and helpful. The B&B is located in a stunning little Alsacain village and it took only two minutes to walk to the centre of the village. The room was clean and comfortable.

United StatesI really don't have any suggestions. I can't think of anything to improve. Hope to return here someday.
The location was very convenient to the village restaurants so I could easily walk there and not worry about drinking and driving. The owner was very helpful when I asked some sight-seeing questions. Good directions to helping me find gas for the car too. I loved finding bottled water in the room upon arrival.

United StatesWe were not aware that the private bathroom was across a public hallway from the room. The second and third night we moved to a larger room that had the private bathroom across the hallway, however, this time the hallway was private.
Located in a quiet neighborhood very close to the center of Riquewihr (5 min walk). Free parking on premises. Room was clean, good mattress, and good shower. Breakfast was standard fair-croissants, good bread, cheese, coffee, jams, juice, etc. The owner was very nice and had suggestions where to eat and sample wine.

United KingdomWe stayed one week and the breakfast menu didn't vary.
The breakfast was plentiful with coffee, a range of teas and orange juice to drink. Yummy bread and a variety of (mainly local) cheeses and croissants with a range of jams were available. Also yoghurts. The host invited all guests to a delicious Thai meal one evening. The hosts were good in a range of languages and were very relaxed and sociable with a good knowledge of the local area.

Perfect location, only a few minutes walk from the old city centre. Very quiet. Typical French breakfast. Nice twist to let all guests have breakfast at one large table. This makes it esy to get in touch with other people. Friendly hosts.

United KingdomIt would be nice to have a fan in the room as it got very hot at night. We noticed also that a few of the electrical sockets in the room were not secure which felt unsafe when we were charging phones etc overnight.
Fantastic location for visiting Riquewihr with ample free parking on site which was a massive plus for us. Hosts are very friendly and helpful and speak several languages. Breakfast is plentiful, especially if you like cheese, and the bread is the best we’ve had in France. Bed is large and very comfy, en-suite bathroom also spacious. There is an honesty fridge in the kitchen with beer, fizzy drinks etc and also a small fridge in the room too which is handy.
