Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesOur bedroom roof seemed to have a birds nest on it or something similar as we were kept awake by scraping of animal feet a lot of the night.
Amazing views, great option to provide shuttle to beach for dinner too, lovely facilities (spa/pool etc) and the wine tasting was fun and delicious wine!

This is our third or fourth time we stayed at the hotel. The restaurant, staff and facilities are just fantastic. We will make this a regular stop during our travels.

United KingdomIt was a little disappointing they couldn't have immediate access to their suite when they arrived as there was an issue with something. They were given a drink whilst they waited but when they were only there for one night, it was a shame.
I actually booked this stay as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law for a wedding gift. They loved the experience, the location, the luxury of the room and the attention of the staff. They ate at the beach club and had a great evening, made even better by the shuttle service to and from the beach.

United Arab EmiratesThe bar area needs to improve its lighting and music to create a better atmosphere when quiet. When breakfast was busy the service was impacted.
The whole atmosphere of the place was special.

United StatesNone. Really!
Beautiful setting allying old stones and Scandinavian decor. Restaurants on site. There was only one open on the night we were there and it was fully booked but the staff at the reception made superb recommendations and drove /picked us there at no charge. The restaurant that was open is « gastronomical ». There is also a winery onsite (with very knowledgeable people pouring wines) as well as a couple of art shops. But most and foremost, I need to thank the awesome staff at the reception desk!! We had a major issue with our rental car and they went above and beyond their duties to help us. We wouldn’t have solved our transportation issue without them!! Big kudos!!

SwitzerlandThere were size issue for our first room (out of three), but the room was changed for a larger one. Cleanliness was barely on par for, and with fowl smells from the facet. Wifi was on and off, doors of all rooms closed or not, at will. Laundry was a disaster. Prices of a "true" five star hotel, with an despicable service, shirts returned with spots, not even ironed and folded "pele-mele". We outsourced our laundry service! One night, we came back around 11:30 (left our key in the room), and no one at reception, no one answered the phone ... finally, the person on duty came back from having done a check around the property. The gastronomic restaurant was excellent but no other alternative on site ... except going back to the Beach. For clients staying a week (3 rooms at those prices), and eating at the hotel's Beach for lunch, an alternative on site would be recommended. As well, Beach chairs should be complimentary for longer stay guests of the hotel, as anyone walking into the Beach facility could rent the same chairs!
Very friendly staff. Facilities were overall very good, and the site of the property was magnificent. The gastronomic restaurant was excellent. Great wine boutique. And a great Beach facility.

United KingdomNo restaurants on site were open for duration of 3 night stay - had to drive 10mins for food. Hotel provided a shuttle bus for sister restaurant. However we arrived on Monday and all availability was gone. We had to order room service which was awful and very very expensive - 30€ for a child’s portion of gnocchi!
Beautiful location - stayed in villa with pool

United StatesWe truly can't find any negatives about the visit. The only thing I could say is the spa is smaller than some other spa locations we visited in the past, but still quiet, beautiful, and the services were excellent.
From the beautiful drive up to the property, to the staff, the phenomenal wines, music, and dinner was absolutely over the top. Our dinner at the French Restaurant was served to perfection with a staff that we talked and laughed with. We also opted in for the Master Tasting Class in which we learned much more about wines and the wines of the region. We can't wait to return in the Spring!!

ItalyThe staff is young, willing to help and tries to be genuinely nice but lacks authenticity and sufficient training to succeed. The older staff is top notch. The food at their beach restaurant is mediocre at best if not terrible. Wines are okish. Entire place is very bad value over money, at least in August. It is terribly outdated and understaffed for the prices they practice but I understand the owner is some kind of local French celebrity and I guess you get this glitzy crowd around that likes to bask in this celebrity lime light. To be honest, far too many airs for my taste.
Well furnished and designed room but simply materials nothing fancy. Room was above their events hall which made it very noisy on some nights. The domain is fantastic and big with plenty of activities and options - two great swimming pools, the one at Villa Soleila also has amazing views. Breakfast is out of this world in terms of options, local ingredients - extremely plentiful. It is impossible not to find something you enjoy. They even have peeled grapefruit and freshly baked pancakes, French toast - just so you can get an idea of the amount of work, attention to detail that goes into preparing breakfast. The beach is located about 20 mins from the Chateau and they provide shuttles and can arrange for you to go on a certain schedule but need to book if you don't have your own car.
