Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel is situated in the red light district. We had our teenage children with us so were shocked when we arrived. However it felt safe to walk around the area.

AustraliaSoundproofing was a little iffy, combined with very weak air conditioning meant that we had to choose between temperature or noise on weekend nights.

MauritiusThe entrance of the hotel is "weird", very dark, not inviting. We had two nights without a functioning air conditioning system and could barely sleep. The personnel did provide us with a fan on the 2nd night but it was still a nightmare to sleep.
It was right next to the Moulin Rouge, where we had bookings. The staff is very very kind, very courteous. The room was very clean.

United KingdomI'm a feminist, so the fact that we were literally surrounded by sex shops and lap-dancing venues was distasteful, unnecessary, and outdated. This is a lovely part of Montmarte, with a fantastic history linked to some of the most famous artists of our time, who spent time here and developed their talents by spending time together in the bars and cafés. The tacky, sordid sex scene is demeaning and old-fashioned and it's certainly not what most of your tourists want nowadays, so get rid of it, and celebrate Montmarte for its beauty and creativity, rather than hanging on to some antiquated, misogynistic stereotypes, which I, quite frankly, found pathetic and embarrassing.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and clean. The location, very close to the Blanche metro station was ideal and the proximity to Montmarte was great. Lots of nice patisseries for breakfast and restaurants for dinner.

United KingdomIt's... surrounded by sex shops. And shows. We didn't know about the area and in retrospect we're not surprised. Maybe a prudish British attitude, but something saying 'there's a pay by the hour two doors down, four sex shops within 100m and strip clubs' might be useful for someone booking a family stay. However, had we educated ourselves, we would have known more.
The place is a legend - it was great to be in the heart of it. Very historic, great access, a variety of bars and lovely brunch places in easy walking distance.

AustraliaAir conditioning did not work in one of our rooms so was very hot. They did have people working on it so not a long term issue but was broken for our two nights. Toilet at entry to accomodation very smelly.
Location was great. Right near Moulin rouge. View from balcony amazing. We got lucky with room 802 looking onto Eiffel Tower. I would stay here again.

United KingdomWe were caught slightly off guard with the location being in the middle of the red light district and it wasn't the nicest area to walk through on a night, but this was probably an oversight on our part when booking. The nicer areas are a 5 minute walk down the road, or the metro is a really short walk away. The breakfast wasn't great, so we ate out one of the mornings. The room smelt slightly stale but we could air it with the big windows.
Room was really spacious, bed was comfy and bathroom clean with a good shower. Room was quiet but with big windows too so handy when it was warm. The staff were friendly. The metro is really close by so it was handy for getting around and can get straight to the Arc de Triomphe and Gare du Nord, and it's really easy to explore Montmartre on foot from here. It's near some really good areas for eating and drinking.

United KingdomI didn't realise the area was a 'little racy', as we stayed on Rue de martyrs last time and thought this close to it. I had bought kids with me and thought I had made a huge mistake....But due to my wheelchair it actually turned out to be brilliantly located for buses, shops etc. So it worked out well and kids weren't that bothered at all.
The rooms were very nice, the staff were always on hand. If we needed anything like an extra adapter, they let us borrow it for free etc. It was so well located for me a wheelchair user.

United StatesThe pillows were so uncomfortable for us. They were too thick! We even asked staff overnight to change for us as we couldn’t sleep on them and he gave us the exact same pillows. It broke my neck and even after a few nights after returning home now my neck is still sore. They should offer thinner pillows for a 4 star hotel. We would bring our own pillows next time. Also. Air con didn’t really work in our room.
The location is great. A few streets away from the gorgeous streets of Montmartre. Except this hotel is located on the sex street of Pigalle so be warned. We found it harmless. It’s great location to 3 metro stops. Blanche, Pigalle and Clichy. Also, a 9 min walk from our bakery Pain Pain. The most delicious baguettes and desserts. The staff were also amazing. Maria, Louis and Andrew. All wonderful, friendly and professional. They helped us with our room and other requests. View was perfect. We are so grateful and the hotel is very lucky to have such wonderful staff! I hope they get recognised for their wonderful customer service! Our room was cleaned daily and maid staff did a great job. Shower power js also great once you figure out how to run it on. Overall, we would stay again due to the staff.
