Authentic B&B with an active and friendly host

The shower in our personal bathroom was in the bathtub and no curtain, the floor will get wet, no matter what you do.

If you're looking for a nice B&B in the Alsace region, this place is a good spot for you. The old, authentic house, the very friendly host and the good location make it a true gem for people who like the personal and unique atmosphere of a local B&B. The facilities are basic and don't expect any luxury, but simply enjoy life and accept what is there. The host Lulu will make time available to talk to you, tell stories and give advice and where to eat and how to get to Strasbourg using the excellent tram (metro) network. She makes local pastries for breakfast and home grown fruits are on the table. Be prepared to talk to your fellow guests as there is only one big table for breakfast. There is also a small outdoor pool which we didn't use. The garden offers space to sit outside in nature.

Beautiful quiet little town. Greeted so kindly by the owner who had to get the room ready so sent us to the local restaurant this was fully booked however they made space for us with a perfect meal. Accommodation very clean and tidy and very spacious. Breakfast was superb and enough for four people not just two. Will definitely visit again when travelling through to Austria. Also have to mention the beautiful doggy Nutella.

Lulu was an amazing host, we had a great time! She is such a nice person so helpful and very kind! Her dog Nutela was the best dog and our daughter was obsessed with him! Breakfast was more than a traditional French breakfast, I think everything was homemade and delicious!! Highly recommended!

The main downside is that if you rely on public transport, if something happens to the train system, it is very difficult to leave the village. If you are afraid of dogs it might not be the best place to stay, as their very handsome dog is a bit vocal and excitable. If you have difficulties with stairs also it might not be the best choice, some rooms are on the second floor with no lift, although that is to be expected in a traditional Alsatian home.

The place is fabulous, with lots of Alsatian character and beautifully decorated. Each room has a theme and the owner fills them with traditional items, like furniture, costumes and lovely little embroidery. We were there right before Christmas so the house was also extra decorated and very festive. The rooms are clean, spacious and warm. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of food and traditional French and Alsatian bakes often homemade or fresh from the village bakery. One morning we could smell fresh baking from our room, it was lovely. All the guests have breakfast at the same table and it's always a nice festive and friendly atmosphere from people around the world that the owner is very good at creating. The village is pretty in its own right, welcoming and only a short trip by train from Strasbourg central. The train station is a short walk from the B&B and trains are every 30 mins We also had dinner -twice!- in a lovely restaurant (5 min walk from the B&B) and the food was excellent and traditional. We loved Nutella the dog. There's a beautiful garden and even a small swimming pool for summer. The owner and her husband are friendly and helpful. She went the extra mile for us when a horrible accident completely blocked the train line for hours and we would have been stuck in the village. She drove us with her car to a nearby village so that we could take an alternative transport (tram) to Central Strasbourg. If you don't mind to be a little far away from central Strasbourg we think that's the perfect stay!

The house was so cozy, it felt like staying at my grandmother's house in the countryside, we had the best French rustic experience. The owners was so kind and the breakfast was authentic French. Very nice experience. Thank you Hristijan and Natalija

The bed is too small (140x190) and very uncomfortable The heat, sadly the owner does her best with an air con in the corridor but not possible to let it run at night because of the noise and in the room it is very warm as it's under the roof A ventilation in the bathroom would help too

Warm welcome from the owner Authentic experience Nice breakfast The village is very cute and the restaurant nearby is also a great experience

Mondays and a Tuesdays in France are a pain. Most restaurants are closed, including the one in Meyersheim. No facilities in the village at all. Hosts will only accept cash.

    Hosts. House. Dog.

Of course it is not the B&B's fault in any way, but it is important to know that the church bells ring every 15 minutes all night, which kept us awake. It is also important to know that there are no room keys so your room is always open.

A very nice room in a beautiful house in a pretty village. A good restaurant is round the corner (Wed to Sun). There was a great selection at breakfast - definitely something for everyone. The host was friendly and chatty. Nice atmosphere at breakfast.

I had no problem with this but the house has low ceilings and wooden floors making it not very noise-proof. A young family with little boy were staying there and they behaved very conscious about this: very lovely!

You can not find more 'Alsace' than this place: the house is old, well kept and very authentic. The host is super friendly and goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. Family type of atmosphere. Great breakfast at the big family table: nice!

This is an excellent and quiet B&B located in village, place is beautiful. We have very nice welcome! Everything is on very high level. If we could stay one night longer, that will be great. Breakfast was handmade and delicius with a lot of domestic kind of food. Private parking is big advance if You arrive with car. Thank You for our short but beautiful stay, we will surely come back again.

Every 15 minutes (24/7), there was the sound of nearby church bells. The friendly host wasn't available after dinner.

First of all, there is a lack of privacy. Both because of the hostess's desire to talk for a long time, and because of the sound behind the neighboring wall. It is not comfortable to do things in the toilet and hear the neighbor doing the same. I was awakened at night when settlers started walking upstairs. Old creaking floor, very loud. Also the owner's dog barking outside. And worst of all - I was forced to pay in cash.

An interesting old building with old authentic windows and beautiful Easter decorations.
