Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The door to the adjoining property was opened by the guests next door straight in to our room!
Breakfast was great and served in the host’s beautiful dining room. Shower was fab! Parking on site is always a plus for us!

The property was clean, comfortable and very conveniently located. Just a short walk into the centre. Breakfast was fabulous, and plentiful. Our host Evelyn was very helpful. A great stay.

It was a little difficult to find - perhaps a bigger sign on the outside with an arrow pointing to the correct property (within the group of properties on the same site) would have helped!
It was comfortable, clean, spacious and our host was very friendly and helpful. Good parking and a lovely breakfast. Very convenient location to explore the historical centre of beautiful Chartres.

It would have been good to have had a kitchen although not necessary for an overnight stay.
La Rosace is attached to a beautiful old building with so much character. Its’s location was very close to centre of Chartres just a 19 min walk. We made use of the free parking which was exceptionally useful. Breakfast was varied and if a great quality. I would definitely recommend this property for a short stay.

We liked everything!
The hostess was extremely nice and helpful. The room was super clean and had everything we needed. I loved the nice selection of hot tea. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room and very good. The location is convenient to visiting Chartres, yet in a peaceful area. There is ample parking, in case you bring a car. We rented a car locally and had a problem with the car, but Evelyne's son was nearby and helped us. He was wonderful! We highly recommend La Rosace.

The terrace could do with tidying up .
The room had its own entrance . It has a small fridge which was helpful and a separate bedroom . The bathroom was lovely with a great shower. Breakfast was very good . It’s about a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre and there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Parking was just outside the room . Very friendly lady who runs it. We only stayed one night so didn’t really have time to explore very much .

The hostess was helpful and friendly and available. She served a lovely and excellent continental breakfast in her dining room. She gave us a map of the area and told us about the light shows in the evening. Good coffee in the room. Lovely courtyard. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Free parking on location

In a great location within walking distance of town. A lovely quiet spacious room with separate sitting area . A very comfortable bed and good shower. Breakfast included in the price was delicious. Best baguette and croissants we had on our trip. Host kind and gracious.

The accommodation was in a good location, about 10 minutes easy walking to the lovely town centre. Our host was friendly and helpful, and there was safe parking for our car. The breakfast was French style, with nice bread/pastries, jam, fruit , yoghurt etc. If we were in this part of `France again, we would definitely stay here again.
