Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSuperb property, full of history in the heart of Honfleur. We were on the top floor (attic) of an old fishermans house which was imaginatively decorated and full of charm and character.....tiny narrow stairs so make sure you are ready for that! Well worth the effort though as what a fantastic view of the ancient harbour. Our host was excellent and gave us recommendations for amazing local restaurants (there are over 100 to choose from so that was very helpful) ...highly recommend the oysters!! Breakfast basics supplied + they even take away the dirty crockery....what a service! Highly recommended.

United KingdomLeaving.
The Accommodation was excellent, every facility that we required for a short stay. We were met by the Host, who provided great information about the town and surrounding areas., including on where to park during our stay, alway welcome information when there is no on site parking. In this case, long stay parking was only a short walk away. Hornfleur offers a variety of cafe bars and restaurants to explore...... we must return to finish the tour.

The location was excellent, right on the harbour. The room was lovely, clean, and had wonderful character. There was also a mini fridge that was stocked with breakfast items and drinks. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend for those looking for somewhere with character.

The location was perfect, just behind the harbour but when you open your window you look directly onto the harbour. A1 position

United KingdomThe only very minor comment would be that as we were there for two nights we could have done with more butter.
Fabulous location right in the centre of Honfleur overlooking the Vieux Bassin. The room was well appointed with a well-placed table where we could eat watching all the activity going on around the harbour, and experienced a spectacular thunder storm! The bathroom and the shower were excellent with plenty of towels and toiletries and the water, juice, yogurts and cakes provided supplemented the delicious croissants and baguettes from the boulangerie situated one minute away. We had excellent take away sushi from Fuji Sushi in the room on our first night and on our second night dined at Le Fleuron (situated virtually underneath the accommodation) on the recommendation of our hosts. Jean-Philippe and Caroline, the hosts, were very helpful and responded to queries very quickly. A previous review mentioning noise concerned us a little but once the windows were closed it was very quiet. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we will definitely be back!

United KingdomBeing in the centre of the city had two small drawbacks, but in fairness to the owner, it is a normal trade off to being in a city centre. First, it was noisy. The windows are well glazed to block out the noise if shut but that makes the room a bit too warm. As we like a cooler temperature, we left them open and were woken regularly throughout the night with street cleaners and people enjoying the city night life (as you would expect). We live in the countryside so I am sure a person use to the city would be fine with this element. The only other small point is that parking is a bit of a lottery. We didn't mind putting the car in the city car park at only 6 Euros a day, and it is a pleasant 5 minute walk back to the accommodation through the old town (and, as advised by the owner, some interesting views of the city harbour and old houses from another angle at the car park - so it was a bonus). We did, again as advised, manage to get parking right outside the front door on the Sunday so that was convenient to load up the bags the next day. Again, both of these points didn't reduce our enjoyment of the place and its what is expected in a city.
Wonderful host who very kindly took the time to check what we liked to do, hiking and learning history, and tailored the advice accordingly to inform of us of all the best spots to explore in Honfleur, and there are many, all of which are close to the accommodation. He told us of a great hike to a view point that wound down onto the beach and through a lovely garden with famous people connected to the city, Le Jardin des Personnalités. The walk took in a beautiful fisherman's church, Chapelle Notre-Dame . Incidentally, the small train of Honfleur also goes up to the church/ viewpoint if you don't feel like the 2 hours hike around the circuit. The walk took in the old city which was fascinating too (both halves). There is also a small garden directly opposite the front door of the property which is well worth a stroll through: Jardin du Tripot. The host also advised us on the the most fantastic lunch spot packed full of locals, Le Corsaire, beside the 15th century Église Sainte Catherine, France's largest wooden church, so the setting was wonderful. We had a leisurely lunch and were thankful for the recommendation as we would have otherwise walked past it (like so many tourists were doing). The decoration is so clever and we kept noticing quirky detail over our stay. The water heater in the top room, Albatross, was even painted as an old suitcase, the attention to detail was fantastic. The apartment had everything you could need including a small bar fridge and coffee/ tea making facilities. It was a trek up the lovely old windy wooden steps but that burnt off our big lunch so we didn't mind (but it is worth bearing in mind if you have mobility issues). A top location we would happily go back return, we are certain we missed some of the many Honfleur sites and this is a good starting location. The people in Honfleur were very friendly, like the host, to make the stay even better.
