Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyActually nothing, just one small caveat: the booking says 'Breakfast included', which means in this case that you have a fully equipped small kitchen - plus a bit of foodstuff provided - to self-prepare your breakfast. Which was no problem for us at all.
The barge - actually more holiday apartments than a B&B -and its (interior) decoration in the style of 50s&60s in almost every detail is fantastic. The location is near to shopping and eat&drink facilities and only 15min walk to the streetcar going into town. The little apartments with balconies right above the water are very nice. Fully equipped kitchen (see 'breakfast' below). Location is very quiet at night - at least normal nights, we stayed on the day of 'fete de la musique' which was also fun!

United KingdomThe owners pre travel communication could be better, travel directions were left to the day of travel despite ignored requests beforehand. It was difficult to pick up the communications on the travel day and wised some anxiety about finding our location. Be aware of the mosquitos and do not leave doors or windows open at night. We took some extra pillows, as only two were provided, as learnt from another review. The shower in apartment 3 is a little broken, just needs a new head to stop it leaking.
Great location, unique and characterful accommodation, yet very well equipped and most comfortable, although two additional pillows would be nice. The owners provided basics for breakfast as well as items such as travel adaptors. You have a kettle, hob, fridge and microwave as well as great air conditioning/heating in both the living space and bedroom. We would recommend and we would stay again for sure. Nearby are a good range of restaurants and nightlife, along with the city centre just a short tram or taxi ride away.

Australiathere are some aspects to being on a boat that were a little hard like the stairs to the lower level were skinny and steep you have to watch out not to hit your head on tv as it sticks out into kitchen hall
really different, an experience and a bit of an adventure you can feel like a local as their boats are nearby, it’s a community feel roof deck was a nice touch and had great views of historic sub base wonderful to have kitchen to cook and a big table to sit around welcome supplies are left in fridge for breakfast you do need a car to stay here, parking is free and secure hosts are very friendly and helpful close to wine museum, maritime museum, submarine base and some great bakeries

AustraliaThere was no soap provided for the shower. The wifi was very slow.
Breakfast was adequate. Location was good, although having a car helped a lot. It was a bit noisy at night with the bars across the water, but not too much of a problem. Apart from that we had a very comfortable stay and it met our expectations.

United KingdomStepping over the stairs when you came back in the dark was a challenge. But, hey, it's a boat and so we were careful. You just had to be aware and it was not a problem really.
What a delight to stay in a boat overlooking an interesting part of Bordeaux. With temperatures up to 38 degrees we were delighted that the air conditioning worked very well throughout the boat. In the morning it was lovely to switch the air conditioning off and open the windows and let the cool breeze blow through the boat. Reading on the deckchairs upstairs was a delight. It was just magical to stay in a lovely boat with a shower & toilet within separate wine kegs - fascinating. There is parking for hundreds of cars next to the boat - yes, hundreds - there is a whole dockside available. Overall the boat is super. Thank you.
