Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt is hard to do justice to the beauty of Le Gaimont and the quality of stay you can expect. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family by Matthieu and Elise. They have created a truly special place to stay in a beautiful part of France. Guests are free to make themselves at home, enjoying wine and food picked up on their travels and supplemented if needed by the reasonably priced honesty bar. The grounds are stunning, with charming gardens throughout. There are nooks for quiet reflection or reading a book. You can also wander up to the vineyard above. The pool is great, with lots of comfortable loungers and owing to the small number of rooms, plenty of privacy.. The interior decor is trés chic with great taste throughout. Our room was quiet, comfortable and cleaned everyday. Breakfast is exceptional and the staff are so attentive, giving excellent recommendations for the surrounding area. This is great for children, and our daughter had a wonderful time. The hotel dog, Vito, is a wonderful addition. All in all, we had a wonderful visit and will certainly return. We were sad to leave.

AustraliaNo complaints at all. You will need a car here though!
The chateau was charming and authentic. The pool was divine, we were swimming at 10pm due to a heat wave. Elisa and Elizabetha were very lovely and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, best croissants ever!

United Statesawkward shower in our room, but only because my son and I are very tall.
Beautiful, old property with lovely gardens and pool in the captivating old town of Vouvray. Hosts were both as friendly, engaging and helpful as we could ask for. Would return to this place without hesitation. Breakfasts were superb with local pastries, cheese, perfectly cooked eggs and decent coffee. We even loved their playful young dog.

AustraliaThis Maison is rustic and beautiful. It is old and authentic, but the spaces you use are gorgeous! We stayed in the Troglodyte room, in the rock face. It was well appointed, cool and very comfortable. We did not need air-conditioning despite the 30+ temperature as it is essentially a cave and beautifully insulated. The pool was great, the breakfast room and gardens are lovely settings. On top of this is the host, Elisa, who is perfectly charming and thoughtful. There is a lovely cocker spaniel, Vito. If you love dogs, you will love Vito. If you are not a dog person, he is placid and will not bother you. I cannot rate this property any better, just a delightful French experience.

United KingdomVery little to dislike but absence of any food on site ( except a very good breakfast) or nearby shops in walking distance a nuisance. Very interesting garden. External stone steps to outside rooms a challenge. We will return

AustraliaThe external appearance of the property is gorgeous. I think I expected more from the room that we were staying in. The main room & bathroom was small & although it was decorated nicely & was very clean, it essentially was only just a small hotel/motel room. As we have travelled to many types of accommodation, we can’t help make comparisons & for the price point I expected more. If it wasn’t for the breakfast experience, I think I would have been a little disappointed with the actual room.
The look of the property is stunning. The hospitality is second to none. The breakfast in the dining room was the most perfect breakfast that we could have ever asked for food choice and quality, the ambience (the music was delightful), the look and feel of the room to the lovely view from the large windows . Our host was so lovely & outstanding. A combination of friendliness & helpfulness with a balance of privacy. & thoughtfulness. We loved this breakfast so much that we lingered for a long time just enjoying & embracing the moment (even though we had a hectic travel schedule that day!). The breakfast/ morning made this stay truly wonderful & memorable - so relaxing & a beautiful experience.

United KingdomThe ONLY thing we think would improve such an amazing place is the shower/bath. It was quite difficult to have a shower in as we didn’t want to get the wallpaper wet and the shower curtain was quite long and thick. However, when I had a bath it was lovely!
Le Gaimont is beautiful with charming buildings and a beautiful garden with a pool. Elisa was exceptional, she was so welcoming and really made us feel at home. The breakfast was delicious, best pastries and cakes! The whole interior was so tasteful but also a little quirky which we loved. Elisa spoke excellent English and helped us on a few occasions when hiring e-bikes and recommended places for us to visit. It really is a magical place!
