How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Our visit was to a large extent influenced by wanting to use the very Touristic Little Yellow Train for our onward journey, however, as luck would have it, the French National Rail ( SNCF ) Workers went on strike on the very day we were booked on to leave so our journey was completed on a regional bus service which was very good value although not quite so scenic!
Breakfast was good, location great, walking in rural pastures and up a small river. We were there pre-season so the town is very quiet and Restaurants and Bars and services almost non existent, however, we were offered a lift by the owners to a large supermarket where we were able to pick up all our food and drinks.

Couldn’t access WiFi - difficult to read password. Fridge didn’t seem to work but we didn’t need it.
Yummy breakfast. Friendly hosts.

Excellent breakfast. Quiet location. Appreciated the small kitchen area as there was nowhere to eat in the village on the night we stayed.

There was nothing we would want to complain about, more than satisfied with our stay. We did have some rain but we were able to use the umbrellas provided. Sadly the web-known boulangerie was closed for holidays.
Great location, near the centre of this large village. Good access to the river and lovely walks. The breakfast served in our room was excellent, more than sufficient for our needs. Our host went out of his way to help us.

Nothing I didn't like really.
This place is just so lovely. I was sorry that my schedule only allowed me to stay one night. It was beautifully appointed and very peaceful. I didn't meet Madame who I'd communicated with in making the arrangements, but Monsieur was very welcoming and served an excellent breakfast!

The mattress could be renewed in a while.
Super nice place with kitchen and utensils. Cosy apartment and well located. We made a hike in the mountain and one day we took the train to Puigcerda. Great place and great hosts!

Nothing, it was easy to get to from the train station, perhaps if you are arriving later( after sunset) you should bring a headlamp and not wear dark clothing as the road to get there seems to be the main road and so you want to make sure that drivers can see you. Although when we arrived after walking the 1.5km or so the hosts said that had they know they would certainly have picked us up which was very kind. So that may be an option.
The property looked quite lovely and we would liked to have stayed longer but we arrived in the evening and left early the next morning. The hosts were lovely, the room was great and I could see that it would be a wonderful base from which to explore the surroundings. Breakfast was a bonus, copious and delicious and the hosts were very accommodating in serving breakfast at the relatively early hour that we requested although we had said that we didn't want to trouble them. They also kindly gave us a lift to the train station which was much appreciated, it is walking distance but as it had snowed would have been quite cold and slippery and you have to walk on the side of the road. The room was nicely decorated, the bed comfortable, shower facilities clean and there was a small kitchenette which we didn't use. There was a fridge as well but it didn't seem to be on, perhaps if we were staying longer we might have needed it but since our stay was so short it was not an issue at all. Would highly recommend La Maison Carolane !! Just one thing to note if you do book is that the address is '7 bis' we accidentally rang the wrong doorbell because we didn't know that '7 bis' means the 2nd #7 house :)

We were picked up from the train Station by car which was very nice. The rooms is decorated very thoughtful and all our wishes were met.

The accommodation was excellent in all regards: the hosts were extremely welcoming, provided us with an excellent breakfast and even drove us to the train station early in the morning - simply wonderful! the room itself was really beautiful, the bed was comfortable and we felt at Home right away. thanks again!

I had a great time at la maison Carolane. Every detail was taking care of. The room was cosy and comfortable and really every detail was thought of and taken care of. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
