Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI loved it all.
This is a magical place to stay - a little glimpse of paradise when the sun shines. The family could not be more helpful. The whole place oozes character and charm. The home-made jam for breakfast was super delicious 😋

United KingdomThe village has no evening life. Even the restaurants close before 9pm as this sleepy village goes into hibernation. Best drink a glass of wine and watch the sun set in the garden.
A lovely rustic farm with different out buildings and rooms to suit all budgets. Scrumptious farmhouse style breakfast and, if you're lucky, a taste of very nice cognac with your coffee. The room we had was a fully annexed, self-contained apartment with its own private garden. It is very dog friendly with over 3 acres of fields to explore as well as a beautiful, rustic garden, filled with antique farm machinery and tools.

United KingdomThe stairs to the first floor are rather steep, not suitable for any one with the sligjtest infirmity,, even our agile Spaniel couldn't get down them!
Good evening meal, nice breakfast, comfy bedroom, quiet, easy parking, dog friendly. Would stay again, especially if could have a ground floor bedroom?

PortugalMild confusion about parking on arrival. Google Maps takes you to the front of the property where I knocked on the barn door. It was not clear if I was in the correct place. The parking is around the back of the property, not easy to locate without a conversation. Perhaps this situation could be explained or made more clear prior to arrival.
The hosts were gracious and welcoming. A traditional farming family with accommodation steeped in history. A very peaceful location and we enjoyed a gorgeous countryside walk taken in the morning.

United KingdomThe wooden polished stairs to our room, we had a dog and he struggled getting up and down them. It was very hot in room and was no air conditioning or fan.
Property was very quaint, very peaceful location and clean, beautiful courtyard with swimming pool. Very nice breakfast, everything you need to start your day, and lots of homemade jams, marmalade and honey also fresh orange juice. The elderly gentleman was very friendly, always smiling and the young man was very helpful on our arrival. Neither spoke any English, but we didn’t understand any French but we found a way to communicate, thank goodness for google translate.

United KingdomBeautiful farm with friendly owner. Didn't realised we'd have a whole bungalow to ourselves - we were just expecting a room! Nice breakfast. WE didn't realised there was a small available either. Great to see the chickens. Incredibly good value and would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomHopefully the system communications with Booking.com will be resolved, and in any case, this did not preclude us having a wonderful stay.
We loved it!! This review is a full and honest account of the great aspects and the bits that we might have minded if it weren't such a fabulous little find. We were a little nervous as our journey progressed and we hadn't heard from the accommodation. We are on a road trip back to the UK from the Algarve with a small dog, and we are booking accommodation each day to allow us to balance driving with rest. So, we'd booked this place because it was dog friendly and not far off our route, and also because the rustic element appealled to us. We tend to read other reviews with a pinch of salt when they are critical of more quirky, rustic places, as this is just what we prefer. But as we neared the farm and hadn't heard anything, and then the clouds burst open as the darkness descended, I started to anticipate problems. We followed the satnav to a closed barn door, stood in the rain ringing the bell, and awaited our welcome. The owners seemed a bit surprised to see us there. The gentleman went to check, and shortly after, the woman arrived and asked in French if she could help us. My French is 25 years rusty but I was able to advise we had a booking. "Have you had the booking for a long time?" She asked, to which I replied "aujord hui"! She said she would go and prepare the room. The gent came back and directed us to the car park behind the house which was around the village square. Francois and his gorgeous dog Nougat showed us to our room and we were absolutely delighted. It is a pretty, tastefully decorated annex cottage with a kitchen, bathroom, sitting room and a double and a single bedroom. It was almost entirely immaculate, which was a relief after certain reviews and especially when the lady of the house had only a few minutes earlier gone to prepare the room for us on what seemed to be our unexpected arrival.

United KingdomInternet was at best poor, at worst unavailable! Only one person was charged with its operation and that was the lady of the house. However, when she went "missing" the old kind gentleman in charge wasn't WiFi savvy, hence we relied on our phones. Our hosts weren't English speakers, so communication was limited.
We were very surprised at the size of the whole property. It is an old farmhouse with main building and outbuildings, which are converted into spacious and unusual accommodation. Main outbuilding that looks like it may have been a utility building has two bedrooms on first floor. Downstairs is used as breakfast/dining/utility room ( there are more than one). Breakfast was served there. Notable are the home made jams just dripping with fruit. There is also a separate "bungalow" that in effect is a whole two bedroom suite, totally separate from other buildings. FABULOUS!!! Very quiet location though in the centre of the village.

NetherlandsI had a reservation for this establishment because I was allowed to bring my dog and this was exactly in the middle of my 20 hour drive. But on arrival the extremely rude elderly owner denied me my reservation. As I’m covered in tattoos, this must be the reason why. So she basically denied my entrance because of how I look, in the rest of the world we call this discrimination. She called it we are full. Because of her decision I had to drive 20 hours in one go as I could not find a hotel that accepts pets. I have send a complaint to booking.com, and also they don’t give a damn. I never got an email back from them.

PortugalUnfortunately our apartment we couldn't lock the door from the outside. They have a large friendly dog of their own, however this dog knows how to get into the apartment. This he did and ate all three of our dogs dinners, while we were walking ours.
Plenty of room for walking the dogs in the grounds.... Once we found it... Also need better information on getting to the parking area. Then a long walk from the car to the apartment.
