Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThere is basically no paved way between the pool and the rooms, if you forget to bring your sandals it gets quite painful to walk back on the gravel and the pine needles.
The rooms are comfy, each with its AC. And to have access to the pool was great when it is warm. The owners are very kind and they defend themselves in english. Would definitely repeat.

United KingdomImpossible without car/taxi (though 99 per cent of people arrive this way) or a long walk uphill. Shower curtain needs to be longer and wider to prevent spillage into bathroom. Write down door access code on a card and give it to guests please.
Characterful, personal service, quiet, pool, surroundings Short walks in countryside accessible opposite entrance. Nice breakfast on terrace.

GermanyThe location is amazing and easy to reach by car and bike. But if you travel with public transportation, be aware that you have to walk 20–30 minutes to the bus stop, as well as each time you want to visit the supermarket or the centre of Saint-Rémy. If you’re prepared to do that, it’s no problem though – you can mostly take calm backstreets to walk to those destinations. The hum of the fridge is a bit loud at night, because it’s in the same room as the bed and everything else (except the bathroom, of course). But it’s not constant, and you get used to it pretty quickly.
The location of the studio flat is amazing. It’s on the outskirts of Saint-Rémy in a very calm spot, with a small park right on the other side of the road. The property has a big garden with a pool, a gazebo and deck chairs, which were all well-kept and ready to be used, even though we visited pretty early in the year. The studio flat itself has a terrace furnished with a small table and two sets of chairs, sheltered by a canopy. Chickens were roaming around in the beautiful garden, and we even spotted a squirrel! The interior of the flat is well-furnished and was very clean. The kitchen is well-equipped to cook simple meals, you just have to remember to open a window to get rid of the smells. There’s enough room to store your luggage and live comfortably for a couple of days. An efficient heater helped us during the colder nights (we visited in March). The owners of La Coudoulière are super nice, they live on the property as well and were happy to answer any questions that came up during our stay. They even gave us advice on cycling routes and locations to visit. There’s the possibility to order breakfast for one or multiple days of your stay. We tried it the morning after our arrival; it’s a decent amount of food, good coffee & tea, and you get two of those lovely French croissants.

New ZealandNothing.
The property is set in a semi-rural environment. The unit was comfortable and claen and had all the essentials for a relaxing stay, including a tasty Continental breakfast. The host was very friendly and interesting to talk too, and kindly drove us to our next hotel as we were unable to book a taxi due to them being too busy. We fully recommend this place for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

CanadaThe cooking area was quite limited for large meal prep, but worked well for lunch/snack. Dinner out was an easier option.
The location requires a car, or a REAL commitment to hike. The pool is lovely, with excellent lighting to use even after dark. Breakfast, brought to the room and served on the terrace was very fresh, and very good value. AC in 42 degree heat. Thank you!!

United StatesIt’s a bit out of town and up a big hill. We were not able to get a car from the train station due to it being a holiday in France, no fault of the the owner. It’s about a 25 minute walk into town.
Very clean room, hot shower and comfortable bed. Refrigerator was a nice feature and the pool was a bonus. Breakfast on the private patio was a plus. The owner was very nice. The chickens were super cute.

United StatesThe owner said his credit card terminal was not working, and made us pay cash or money transfer. He also had to turn off the water for an hour in the morning, and gave us only a few minutes notice. The pool was not heated, but probably not uncommon for the area.
Very quiet setting, friendly owner, comfortable room.

United StatesA little confusing finding the entrance. A code is necessary to open the gate. The chickens were a bit annoying. No roosters though, only hens. OP
Outside of all the town traffic in a clean and comfortable location. Easy access to the town when desired. The area is quiet and the owners very friendly. Especially talk with owner about hockey!

Rustic Provence country atmosphere. Extraordinarily quiet, unique lodging structure, nice continental breakfast, kind and courteous staff/owners, all making for a great country experience. St Remy makes a wonderful base for exploring Provence. A very nice pool available for guests.
