Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

We had a wonderful experience at LaCloseraie. The rooms, all decorated in beautiful period furniture, made us feel like we were spending the night in one of the chateaux we visited! And our host Connie was so delightful and generous. She makes all the breads and preserves served at breakfast, which was a royal feast. Plus, she is very knowledgeable about the area and provides great advice. The town of Vouvray is very quaint and ideally situated to visit all the chateau in the area. Highly recommended to stay here for a personal and friendly atmosphere.

United StatesWhen it came time to pay, there was no option to pay with a card at the property. Cash only. If you are prepared, its not a problem.
Centrally located. The home is charming and unique. The dining area is built in the cave. Its a historic home. Excellent host and breakfast.

United KingdomPerfect for our one night stopover but although location was in a pretty village there was nothing there if you were looking to stay for longer.
A quirky property hosted by lovely warm and friendly corrine. Bedrooms were large , airy and comfortable decorated in classic French style. Corrine was a superb host, who cooked a delightful meal for us and produced more breakfast than we could possibly eat!

United KingdomVery helpful hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. Moved her own car in the street to give us a parking space. Lovely old property furnished throughout with antiques. Comfortable large bed with ensuite bathroom with a shower. Secluded garden to sit in and very peaceful. Absolutely amazing breakfast. Home-made cakes and jam, cheese, ham, fresh fruit salad, and even offered a fried egg! Highly recommended.

As mentioned in other reviews, the breakfast was excellent. The host even made freshly baked gluten free food for me which was delicious. It’s only a short walk up to the vineyards so there is plenty of dog walking locally. Also, there are several wine producers within walking distance where you can taste and buy wine.

United KingdomThe stairs are quite steep but we were offered help with our bags.
La Closerie is part house and part cave with very interesting decorations. The hostess is charming and couldn’t have been more hospitable. The breakfast is delicious and generous. We had no trouble parking in the street directly outside. la Scarlatta is the one to go for dinner.

United StatesAsking for more would be getting picky. A good place to stay in the Loire Valley!
Outstanding home prepared breakfast in a Troglodite room. Very unusual and very nice! The hostess, Corrina, was exceptional! Very friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and gave us good advice on visiting the Chateaus. She has a good command of the English language. She has lots of excellent artworks of her own creation on display. We reccomend La Closeraie!

United KingdomIt is much smaller than we expected and front door just off the street. Parking was on the small street outside. The owner kindly moved her car and let us use her space but it’s quite a small lane. We were not so keen on the dolls everywhere but that is personal taste.
The property is very quirky. A lot of character and interesting because it is built into a cave.

United StatesWe had a disappointing stay in Vouvray. There are very few restaurants in the town and our hosts recommended one but didn’t call to book. We walked, began to rain, got soaked. Ok no one’s fault. However when we arrived at restaurant it was closed!! We trudged back to our host and could tell that monsieur was surprised and had no other ideas for dinner. We had to push him to help us. He finally suggested another restaurant and then came running after us saying it was fully booked. Seems like an afterthought that he called. Certainly our hosts were not very invested in our comfort.
