Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaI kinda hoped the AC would cool the room a little better. But not a major concern.
Very beautiful property and very comfortable room. We had a room with a private terrace which was amazing! Breakfast on the patio outside every morning was so nice. I would 100% stay here again.

United KingdomNothing- it was all fabulous.
The property itself was beautiful and the suite that we were lucky enough to stay in was fabulous. It was like home from home, with a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. The suite was super comfortable, exceptionally clean, with everything needed for a stay away from home. Pierre was an amazing host and his family were very friendly-nothing was ever too much trouble. We loved everything about our stay, particularly our fresh breakfasts on the terrace which were served by Pierre. We liked that the property was accessible by tram from the airport and we enjoyed our walks to the centre of Bordeaux, stopping at cafes along the way. Thank you for a lovely stay.

IrelandWe loved everything about the property.
The property is fantastic, located a short distance from the city centre. The facilities are excellent with spacious rooms and delightful veranda. The use of the common room for tea and coffee was a very welcome addition. Pierre is a total gentleman and makes everyone welcome and speaks at least 3 languages. Breakfast is perfect with plenty of fresh and good food. Could not recommend it enough. We were a group of 3 people and there was plenty of room for a 4th if required. The accommodation is extremely secure which also ensured we had a very relaxing and pleasant experience.

United KingdomLa Chartreuse suited our needs very well, despite being a few minutes walk further from the city centre than ideal.
Very comfortable room which was also very quiet as there are only four bedrooms. Breakfast was served attentively by Pierre in a courtyard setting with well cared for plants and trees. A very pleasant way to start the day!

United KingdomThe property backs onto a sports field which was a bit of a surprise when I arrived however this didn't really make any difference to the stay. If you could get a room on the 1st floor overlooking the front then I guess this would have been better. I'll try for one of those rooms the next time I think.
Very tranquil comfortable stay in Bordeaux. Pierre was very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Was a bit of a walk into the (10-15 mins) centre but there's a tram at the end of the road by the church if you couldn't do the walk. In comparison to other places I saw this was pretty upmarket especially for the Money. R

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn’t like. The accommodation was excellent.
The location was wonderful - very easy to access from airport via direct tram route to corner, then 10 minute tram ride into city centre from stop at end of the street. Pierre was a welcoming and friendly host. He provided detailed instructions on check in procedures as well as access to Bordeaux’s wonderful sights and a range of restaurant options. The room was spotless and very comfortable and quiet with tasteful decor. The breakfast was generous and had many options.

We could walk to town about 15-20 mins, the tram was very convenient too (5 mins walk away and take you straight to the airport). Piere is a wonderful host, he made us feel welcome. We also liked the breakfast, not elaborate but more than what we needed to start the day. Love the quality umbrellas he provided too, good attention to details

United KingdomThis was an overnight stop after staying with friends in the region and we were not disappointed. Our room was well appointed, spotless and comfortable and the location was convenient for our needs. It was especially useful to be so near Line A on the Tramway to get to the airport the morning after our stay. Breakfast was excellent too.

Safe and secure and peaceful. A good sized room. Great having a communal dining/living area guests could use outside of breakfast time to read, make a coffee, play cards. Five minute walk to the tram line which takes you quickly into the old town. Line A also takes you to the airport in 40 minutes. Pierre was quick with communication and always obliging.
