How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was 😋
Very friendly couple who made us feel very welcome and were happy to chat to us despite a small problem with language (we’re English). Immaculately clean accommodation, everything we could need for our stay and a lovely breakfast in the main house the following morning. A perfect stopover from our home in Burgundy on a trip to the U.K.

Nothing to dislike.
Very clean, comfortable apartment. Fully equipped for self catering, but the breakfast is the best. Really friendly hosts. Secure parking. Convenient location for exploring area, also proximity to ferries and tunnel. Our second stay and look forward to our next.

Everything. It’s our favourite stopover outward and return trips now. The fact we can park the bike in the garage overnight is just brilliant. The bed is so comfy and the breakfast is lovely. Jules get better soon! 🥰

Nothing to dislike only that we had to leave too soon.
The gite was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We loved the tranquil rural location, beautiful gardens and the secure parking was a great asset. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. Attentive and informative about things to see and do. The excellent breakfast of local fresh produce was beautifully presented and delicious. So glad we found La Belle Symphonie it was so relaxing. Will certainly return.

There was nothing to not like.
Quiet location in attractive countryside, yet handy for getting around by car. Big, comfortable bed. All facilities we could possibly want. Clean and roomy. The apartment was warm. The warm and welcoming welcoming hosts helped me with my very rusty French. Excellent breakfast with delicious homemade jam, bread and other local produce which was enough to keep us satisfied until evening meal!

We have stayed with Yolaine & Jules many times before at this little gem in Pas de Calais. Such a lovely friendly couple, so helpful and it almost feels like visiting family now. We are staying again in June and September, what more could I say about how much we like it here. Lovely little extras too. A bientot.

This was our 4th stay at Yolaine and Jules apartment. Although we don’t speak very good French we manage to communicate and it is always such a pleasure to chat with our hosts. Nothin a dictionary and a hone translator can’t cope with. They are such lovely people, so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. We love our stopovers here. 😁

We have stayed before and Yolaine and Jules are fab hosts. We had a nightmare on Le Shuttle, which had closed its site in Folkestone for security reasons and Yolaine could not be more helpful in allowing us to arrive much later than planned. We were so grateful. Breakfast is plentiful and so tasty.

Yolaine and Jules are hosts of the highest standards, helpful, regarding places to visit and local information too. The property and its' surroundings are immaculately maintained and welcoming. The secure parking behind padlocked gate is a nice touch. Vieil Moutier is very quiet, rural village set in Des Cap et Marais D'opale. Beautiful views from the property, and the church bells can be heard too. The accommodation is very well presented and extremely clean. There is nothing required to make your stay more comfortable. All at home facilities are included in the accommodation, accept after breakfast food and drink of course. The local Carrefour we found in Desvres is about 15 minutes away. The hosts present a petit dejeuner of locally sourced jambon, fromage, yoghurts and pastries. Also homemade bread, conserves and cake are made available. We tasted fantastic homemade cherry, apricot and orange conserves. If you do not manage to eat all that is provided the hosts will encourage you to "takeaway" for later in day. Overall a very relaxed ambience and a beautiful part of France. Great hosts and a beautiful property. Merci.
