Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery little not to like apart from, for us, the lighting in the bathroom which was very bright indeed. Good light in the bathroom essential, of course, but we still found it a bit too much. There wasn't a full length mirror in the bedroom. However, having mentioned this in passing, Antoine immediately went and found one which we then placed in the room
We liked everything about La Belle Boulonnaise, from the warm welcome Bonjour to the 'au revoir' when we left after a very pleasant 3 night stay. Antoine and Anne are excellent hosts who have worked hard at making their home a very welcoming and comfortable place for guests to stay. Nothing is too much trouble, and they're happy to share their knowledge of the vacinity and to make recommendations for places to visit. They are in an excellent location for shops, restaurants, the town and the beach. If you like large rooms with high ceilings and a mix of classic and modern French style, you will be very pleased if you choose La Belle Boulonaise for your stay. Not forgetting the breakfast! Fresh croissants and bread, cheese, home made jam and 'proper' tea and coffee - all personally served by Antoine and Anne in their delightful dining room. We hope to visit Boulogne again soon - and will look no further - as we have already found the best place to stay.

United KingdomEverything was great :)
We loved our one-night stay here (with our dog), in a lovely location in Boulogne-Sur-Mer, just a stroll away from the old town. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming, even when we weren't sure of our arrival time. The highlight was the homemade breakfast – especially the juices, jams and French toast. Delicious, and we would happily stay here again. Thank you!

United KingdomWe did not find anything of a negative nature.
The location was superb near the ancient city walls of Boulogne. There was also a substantial memorial area across from the hotel to the French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette, with an obelisk covered in heiroglyphics, and representations of pyramids, sphinxes, and an Egyptian boat. The hotel was very comfortable in a lovely period property with lovely high ceilinged rooms tastefully decorated with period furniture and artifacts. Antoine and Anne made us feel very welcome and our rooms were very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we were revisiting the area.

United KingdomAs with most old properties doors and floors creak, which can be noisy on a night. Our bed wasn't quite big enough for us as we're used to king size. Our toilet was situated on the landing below our room, which could be a problem for people who need to use it during the night. We were lucky to get a parking spot on the street right outside the hotel but others may have to park further away.
The couple who run the hotel are lovely. Very helpful and friendly. Their breakfast was excellent with home made cakes and jams. Excellent location for town centre, bars etc. The hotel has lots of character and period furniture.

United KingdomThis is an absolutely stunning B&B with an absolute stunning view of the Old Town and city. Antoine and Anna have really put their heart and soul in this place. The decor is stylish and at times quirky with a lot of beautiful artwork, furniture and fabrics. The room was light and airy and the parking was easy - just out front. The location was also incredibly convenient. We were spoiled at breakfast with homemade organic jams, cake and juice and delicious pastries. Antoine was also a great help on letting us know the best places to visit - not only locally but also in neighbouring towns. We loved it and would not hesitate to go back or wholeheartedly recommend it!

United KingdomSlightly chilly in the bedroom, probably due to it being December and the high ceilings, but we just put the heater on a bit more. Tap water didn't taste amazing, but I don't think there's anything anyone can do about that! No tea/ coffee facilities in bedroom.
Very friendly hosts. Gorgeous house in a very convenient place. Comfy bed and lovely bed linen. Delicious, thoughtfully prepared breakfast. This included some lovely cheeses and homemade cakes! All in a highly civilised dining room. Beautiful guests' sitting room with tea and coffee facilities in it, and a pool table. We would definitely return without hesitation!

La Belle Boulonnaise was a beautiful old house with lots of character. The hosts are most welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was delicious with homemade jams and cakes with local produce of cheeses and breads. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, decorated in keeping of the house and it is in a great location for walking to the old and new town. Parking is free along the street from the house and if needed there is a QPark just across the street.

Looks a little shabby from the exterior but inside it’s beautiful full of interesting antique furniture.Hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable. The property is 3minutes from the centre of the fortified city where all the bars and restaurants are. Parking is free although Boulange is a bit of a nightmare to drive due to one way systems and roadworks

United KingdomNothing really, everything was great. Even if our room was up the stairs Antoine helped to carry our heavy big luggage. Slightly a bit high price wise but it included the breakfast and it is an independant property. Great place anyway.
Fantastic welcoming from Antoine and his wife. Great location to visit the town, easy car parking right in front of the property on the other side of the road. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful house with lots of history.
