Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTERRIFYING steps and elevator exit. The tiny elevator opens on your floor to about a foot of carpet then an angled drop off down the steps, which is HARD TO SEE - how many guests fall down these stairs? Getting into and out of the elevator was a nerve wracking experience and there is NO WAY this can be suitable for anyone with mobility issues or who is not sure footed with excellent vision. Young fleet footed people with good vision- no problem.
Excellent location in the Marais. Short walk to many restaurants and shops and sights. Comfy bed, but TINY room, excellent for one person but really cramped for two people (there were two twin beds pushed together). Breakfast was sparce, bare minimum and breakfast room is super tiny, with 4 tiny two person tables very close. Do not buy the breakfast here- there is a Pauls around the corner. Very nice front desk employees all speak good English.

CanadaStaff were outstanding! It really emulated Happy culture. The lady working the desk, who i believe her name was Celia, was amazing! She helped us with all the questions we had and even helped us when we accidentally left some things behind. The hotel and the rooms were so cute and the beds were comfy. There was a free bottle of champagne in the room that was wrapped in the same pattern as the room wallpaper. The attention to detail was outstanding. The shower was a little low for a tall guy like me (6ft,4) but that's nothing out the ordinary in most hotels. Location was great! Just off the main street and had loads of shops a day resturants close by, a 5 min walk to the Metro and a 2 min walk to the river. A fantastic affordable option in Paris!

United KingdomThe hotel was very small, it’s hard to tell from the gallery photos with wide angled lens. Maybe this is typical of hotels in Paris, it’s the only one we’ve stayed in. The shower head kept sliding down and the shower door in room 202 was difficult to close fully and to open again when closed.
The hotel was situated close to Bastille metro station. A good supermarket and fruit shop almost next door. Cafe’s, bistros, restaurants and boulangerie very close by, so a good location. The reception staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. It was nice to enjoy free hot drinks and madeleines in the tiny reception or on the small terrace outside the hotel after returning from our trips out. We stayed for 3 nights. It was quiet at night and the bed was comfortable.

BrazilArriving at the hotel, I had the lovely surprise of being welcomed by Celia, an extremely polite and kind employee, multilingual, who spared no effort in giving us advice on the facilities, café, best restaurants in the area, and tours. The other employees were very kind, and the hotel is in a wonderful location, very easy to access. I would definitely return next time!

United KingdomAs with many city hotels, it might be worth bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper, just in case of street noise or other guests, and we couldn’t quite figure out the aircon - so that may be something to keep in mind for spring/summer bookings. Otherwise, it was a great experience.
A charming and quirky little hotel in the perfect location for exploring the sights, bakeries, restaurants, and shops. The area felt very safe and relaxed. Our room was beautifully decorated, with a super comfortable bed and an amazing view from the top-floor balcony (highly recommend booking this room!). We had a clear view of the Eiffel Tower day and night, along with those classic Parisian rooftops. We’d recommend having breakfast out and about, as there are so many great eateries nearby, and the hotel’s breakfast area is quite small - though we did appreciate the free drinks and snacks! The staff were kind and attentive, and even stored our bags after checkout so we could enjoy our final hours in the city luggage-free. We’d definitely stay again!

Check in a breeze. Cannot beat the location for the Marais. Staff cordial and helpful. Some even enthusiastic. Very clean. Rooms are small but this is Paris and I value for what you are paying. View from our windows lovrly.

LuxembourgIt could be a little bit cleaner in some places. The stairs seem very dusty and in some corners of the room it could be cleaner. Also there were some light stains on the covers and especially pillow cases. While I understand that it is not always easy to see the cleaning staff should make sure when making the beds that there are not some stains that didn’t come out in the laundry.
Great neighbourhood close to plenty of sights in walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff. The free coffee in the morning was a great bonus.

IrelandOverall, our stay at Hôtel De Neuve was good. The staff were friendly. The hotel room was small, which is very common with hotels in Paris, but it was very clean, the decor was nice and the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect for wandering around the Marais. The reason I would only give it three stars is the noise and the lack of sleep due to this. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from both outside and inside the hotel. You can hear people walking around their rooms and one morning we were woken by an alarm going off in someone else's room. I understand it is maybe an older building but there is a serious lack of soundproofing. So if you are a light sleeper I would definitely not recommend

ItalyOne night We were stuck in the elevator and except somebody saying they called the technician (we already did inside the elevator) they didn’t come anymore to check if we were fine or if we needed something. At the end We were able to get out by ourselves. The hairdryer turn off itself every minute (it Gets too hot?) and had to wait 1-2 minute to it working again so it requires much more time to dry.
Clean and in a great area!

I loved this adorable little hotel with a perfect location. It was easy to get to when arriving by train to Gare de Lyon and easy to go all over the city on the metro as it was just a few minutes from a metro stop. The staff was super friendly and available 24 hours.
