How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewEspecially i liked my room, it was fifth floor with street view. It was clean, AC works, toilet, bathroom shampoos were existed. Staff also helpfull, i did not experience any problem. Location is perfect, anytime i used public transportation with no problem. I liked montmarte, (i also knew it from Amelie movie) it was amazing. If i will have any trip to paris, i would like to stay again without any doubt.
Breakfast was great but everyday with same menu. It can be change day by day (but no problem with them also, everything was fresh and warm served.

Verified reviewBasically, this is perhaps the first time I've really gotten more than I expected. The room was comfortable, clean, modern, the breakfast was excellent. The location is also great -- half an hour walk to the center and a few minutes to Montmartre.
The room had no view and the pillows were uncomfortable.

We ensured that this was limited to certain areas only, with no impact on the rooms or the quality of our services, which were provided as usual. The ventilation system has a serious problem, the smell of the breakfast ended up in my room in 5th floor. Also the air conditioning system user interface is impossible to figure out. They need to put a user manual for that in the room. It's not intuitive

I have stayed in many 3 star hotels and I don't think this is one . The breakfast area was far to small for the accommodation, chaotic at times and limited choice .

No eating in the room. Stayed for 4 nights, the room was not vacuumed once.

I payed 600 e for 3 days. The price is rediculouse. The interior is more like a dorm. Everything is old and warm down. The breakfast is terrible. The staff asked me if I wanted some pastry to bring up to my room. She took a trash bag and threw the food in there. I was shocked. The coffe was terrible. On the day of checkout I was about to leave my room at exactly 12 when they called me from reception to remind me I have to leave the room at 12. So I basically felt I was being evicted. I was ready to go but as a customer I don’t want to be left with the feeling of being thrown out. I don’t care what their schedule looks like. It is definately an overpriced low budget hostel/hostel.

Our receptionist spoke with you at length on the day of your departure. As explained to you, when the hotel is full – which was the case during your stay, during a long weekend – the rooms must be vacated at the scheduled time (noon), in order to allow them to be cleaned for the following guests. The call was only meant to save you any extra costs, not to make you feel like you're being "thrown out." We are sincerely sorry that you felt this way. We take your remark about breakfast very seriously. It is of course unacceptable to put pastries back in an unsuitable bag. We will discuss with our breakfast team in order to understand what happened and prevent such a situation from happening again. Regarding the price, it was in line with the demand in the Paris region during this specific period. It is important to note that our prices vary according to the season and occupancy, as in any hotel establishment.
