How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Mischarged for drinks, had to sort out the next day, but they were helpful in sorting it out.
The location was perfect.

Hotel as advertised, only comment is the decor is a bit tired and dated, room could do with a fresh coat of paint.
Perfect location for an overnight stop en route through France. Good bar, friendly staff, comfortable bed and breakfast smelled amazing, although we didn’t have time to have it!

All fine
Handy location. Friendly helpful staff. Nice restaurant next door provided meal even though we’d arrived quite late. Great breakfast!

Location for on ward journey was great but 15-20 min walk to nearest restaurants but this was a minor issue.
The staff were excellent especially the lady who served a wonderful breakfast spread the following morning. Loads of choices of cold or hot food. She even cleaned the tables and chairs while attending the food . Excellent to see this attention to detail. Will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Very small room for the three beds requirement. To pass, you had to squeeze between the bed and the luggage. There was no space for luggage (not even for a small suitcase: we'd put it on the bed to search in it, then close it and put it down next to the bed each time). A very bizarre attitude of personnel (It sounds so strange for these days to see that level of confidence lack in a int'l hotel chain; I thought I am in a parallel universe): The receptionist asked a credit card to note manually the info to charge as a guarantee ! I replied that I will pay for the night right then and I provided anyway my card details to booking.com. But it wasn't enough (they don't see the credit card details, only booking.com and it could be charged only in case of no-show). She insisted that she has to pay, if there will be damages in the room. This discussion wasn't with a bunch of teenagers, but with a family (not young) with a 9yo kid. I replied that I never give my card credentials to a person (I agree to fill it in a secure form in online, but I won't give her physically the credit card). Finally she agreed to not ask anymore the card for guarantee, but with the promise that she have to check the room before we leave (easily agreed, no problem for us). Finally, next day, she quitted the idea to check BEFORE leaving. So surreal, as said.
Relatively new equipment, bathroom OK.

Coffee could have been better. It was a automatic machine. Capsule machines provide a better cup of coffee, in my opinion.
Delicious. Food to cater for all tastes, attractively laid out. I appreciated the ‘healthy’ items, seeds, dried fruit, etc to add to muesli.

The room was small for two beds, the bathroom had an unpleasant smell. the lighting and lack of furniture in the room such as a table or dressing area was disappointing.

Couldn’t get room warm enough for comfort overnight. Needs to have written information about travel into Rennes for older people not so used to using phones as maps. Nonetheless staff tried to help.

All good.
A great place to stop on our journey south. Room was clean and quiet looking out at the garden. Breakfast was superb, even had a machine that let you boil your own egg. My grandson hit the pancakes and went away full, quite an achievement. All good.

Expected basic but got thoughtful design with everything clean and in working order. Comfy beds with soft sheets, usb connections by bed, blackout curtains, quiet air con, decent shower, magnifying mirror within bathroom mirror, good shower gel and breakfast had so much variety to choose from. This was a great find on our way through France and will use it again.

It's about time the info on the site was accurate! Court Paille closed for good nearest food was a drive away... Not good after a 6hr drive would have gone elsewhere if I had the correct info
