Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt was as expected - nothing much in the way of food options, but local cae bars are good
It's a budget hotel for a reason, so no fancy frills or luxuries. but it was just what we needed for a stop off on our journey. Some nice cafe restaurants less than 5 minutes away, and a nice walk along the canal. They allowed our dog into the room, and we're grateful for that

FranceVery practical, to be near the highway, but unfortunately lots of noise from that same highway.. It was warm and stuffy in the room. The mattress was really hard.
It is very near the highway. Clean room, Good breakfast, for a continental breakfast. Kind, helpful staff. ( Carole)

United KingdomMore plug sockets needed in the rooms! There was 1 socket and it was by the tv - none by the beds. Could do with a ceiling light as well in the room. Had to depend on the bedside lights and it was quite dark.
Excellent location for travelling to Kortrijk expo. Very basic facilities but I was expecting that and it was excellent value. Charged €5 to have a dog in the room which was a good price and the parking was free of charge. Good transport links and the the hotel was located in a quiet cul-de-sac.

United KingdomCafe area small . Rooms a little tired .
Lovely staff!! Helpful that most personnel also spoke fluent English . Check-in smooth . Very friendly lady on counter answered questions despite busy weekend with full hotel . Cleaning lady prepared room nicely. Breakfast provision better than anticipated at 9am after scores of rugby fans had eaten. Fresh pastries, eggs and dairy products produced near end of service . Security codes worked well at midnight to access car park and hotel. Rooms relatively cool in heat wave and seemed surprisingly quiet despite busy weekend.

This is a great budget hotel. I’m unsure why there is such negative feedback, it’s a 2-3 star hotel hence the price. Secure parking, nice breakfast, couldn’t really hear the motorway, easy access into Roubaix/Lille or going beyond. Carrefour supermarket just the other side of the roundabout. Stayed with kids for two nights and would gladly stay again at that price

United KingdomThe rooms would be better if they were 60 cm wider and deeper around the bed area. Shower too small even for slim people - these comments apply to Ibis Budget hotels - we've stayed in a few.
Very helpful and friendly receptionist. Room had the facilities as described, bed was comfortable. Good parking facilities.

United KingdomAlthough we were aware the hotel was budget we didn't realise it was so basic. Very small room for three adults. Very small shower and the configuration was ridiculous, set in a triangle shape. Not suitable for tall people. The mattress was poor quality, thin and uncomfortable. One small inadequate pillow and only one towel each no hand towel.
The location was good for accessing the major roads for onward travel. It was also next to a lovely canal with a bar and restaurants close by. Would recommend a meal at the fish restaurant Leon down the road. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was better than expected with plenty of choice including bread, cheeses, pastries and good coffee. We really enjoyed it.

LuxembourgIt’s impossible to find the hotel easily. 3 or 4 Ibis hotels within 5 minutes of driving, so watch out not to mix them up. A lot of moskitos and spiders in the room, cause it’s close to the canal. No climatization. Very hot room, not very nicely smelling. Towels not very clean. Everything is tight. No official bike storage. The hotel needs some renewing.
Small, tiny, somehow lovely room, funny for the kid to walk the leather up to the bed. Good restaurants around the hotel. Big supermarket just across the roundabout. The receptionist was very nice with us and helped us to store the bikes in a private room. Free parking. You don’t pay much for the night so definitely worth it if you don’t have high standards and leave after 1 or 2 nights.
