Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsRoom is small. Shower to be used by standing in the bath tub is not comfortable and not expected in a 4 star hotel. Foofd in the restaurant is mediocre and personel control of English not there, also not in line with what one expects from a 4 star hotel. Small things are not in line with that as well like not changing cutlery when used. The termerature in the room is in the winter no more than 19C and in the summer you have a fan to your disposal which does not lower the termparature. Parking and parking instructions. Between 10 and 18h one parks outside the inner courtyard of the castle, where all the visitors for the castle itself park. Room enough and wide, so no problem there. Inside the court yard there is room enough as well. But this arrangement is not clear, so we drove around the castle because we could not find the entrance to the hotel. So go to the parking place for the castle and for checking in and dropping luggage you are allowed to enter the gate and move out again. At 18 h you see all the hotelguests move their car inside. This is not communicated properly. All in all 4 stars is too much.
The way the hotel looks is very pretty both inside and outside. Checking in and out went efficiently. Why a picture of passport is necessary I don't understand, it is not usual in Europe. We did get the copy back on request when leaving. The beds are comfortable. Hygiene is perfect. Room looks nice.

BelgiumUnfortunately the family rooms on the top floor get very hot in the summer. We had an uncomfortable evening even if there was a fan. The beds weren’t great and the room is bit tired, and the breakfast wasn’t up to much
It’s a beautiful place etc, and the restaurant was first class

United KingdomA very disappointing breakfast, especially given the price and the grandeur of the castle setting. The other chateau we stayed in (in Namur) offered eggs freshly cooked to order and an excellent choice of fresh fruit, as did a much cheaper business hotel in Libramont.
Fantastic setting in a medieval castle. Grand room. Helpful staff.

United KingdomRestaurants and bars close by within a 10 minute walk. Fabulous setting for a romantic getaway. There is plenty of free parking. We had an issue with breakfast, but this was quickly sorted to our satisfaction by the helpful staff. In the town is a very nice botanical garden to sit and relax with a book.

United KingdomWorst part of the stay was the food. Dinner was just acceptable at best, given that it was a high class restaurant. Poor attention to detail. The breakfast buffet was very sparse and meagre, with an inattentive server.
Small but well fitted room overlooking the castle square. Cheery staff

United KingdomInside there is little reflection to its history. Everything is modern and very commercial more in keeping with an Ibis! The food was well cooked but lacking flavour and colour. My husband’s smoked fish had lots of small bones in it. Breakfast was a great disappointment. It was buffet-style with delicious bread but everything else was very average including some pale fatty bacon which looked most unappealing.
The outside of the property is very grand looking with a pretty patio area dotted with tables and chairs. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Charlotte on reception and the restaurant staff who did their very best to speak English to us.

LuxembourgThe breakfast was a little limited when we arrived. For the price of it, one could expect more variety in cheese or ham and bread. But all in all it wasn’t too bad. The restaurant room colors are a little strange. The pink wallpapers don’t fit with the grey carpet neither the beige chairs nor the blue curtains.
The location is amazing. Quite cool to stay in a castle. Great rooms and very friendly personnel. Easy parking facilities too.

United KingdomThe room was not as large as the last time I stayed there. The choice of beer in the bar was limited.
The hotel had plenty of secure parking for our groups motorcycles. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was well equipped and clean. The restaurant food was good and the wine was decent at an affordable price. Our touring group enjoyed the stay and the museum. Good proximity to the town.
