How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing - it was great!
The room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard. All the staff were very friendly and daily house keeping did a lovely job. It was at a great location in Sarlat, close to all the shops and restaurants. We didn’t book breakfast, but it looked great.

When we arrived, the male receptionist did not appear to be happy, although he said he could speak English, his attitude appeared that everything was too much trouble. When asked for recommendations for restaurant he replied "don't bother' and walked off. When asked for some milk, he walked off to get it without speaking. He could learn a few lessons from Brigette !!
Lovely pool with sunshine, short walk to Old Sarlat, comfy clean room with fridge and an outstanding breakfast. Brigitte served us breakfast, happy, smiling and was very friendly, Nothing was too much trouble better than her colleague, see below.

The hotel was well placed for exploring Sarlat and the benefit of a pool during August was a real benefit. The lovely owner/manager was so accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The hotel clearly has some history and we learnt about its prominence during the film festival often hosting famous actors, (photos can be seen in the foyer). Breakfast was a traditional continental buffet with delicious fresh breads and croissants etc. We slept very well and the benefit of air conditioning in the room was very welcome.

It was very close to the centre of Sarlat, which is full of lots of wonderful restaurants and shops to look around. The staff were absolutely fabulous they made you feel very welcome and were always ready to help or have a chat, made the holiday,

One surly gent at reception. parking an issue...either on street or 20 euros per night. Usually got something within 5 minutes walk

No hand basin in the toilet which was separate to the bathroom on the other side of the suite. Shower gel insufficient and hand wash like water.

We had a lovely warm reception from Brigitte, the room was perfect. The pool is a lovely treat especially after a long drive. Parking is free but just an 80m walk from the hotel and the old town is about 0.5km so the location is wonderful.

We got the last room which didn’t have aircon. But honestly, we slept like babies. We kept the window open (there’s a shield for mosquitos) and were cool enough despite blistering 37c heat in the day!
We booked on a whim after realising how STUNNING Sarlat is. The weather was roasting and we saw that it had a pool. BLISS. Just what we needed. We got the last room and after a quick swim we were refreshed and ready for a night of festivities at the annual town festival.

The area provided for bicycle storage was not really secure which is important for us as bicycle tourists.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel and room were very nice and the staff were helpful.

No on site parking but plenty of parking in local streets.
The room was large enough for the two of us, clean, all of the facilities we needed and the breakfast was exceptional.
