Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Good location to old town. Car parking was onsite which was good but we are so pleased our car was small as it was a very tight fit to enter the garage.

If you are arriving by car, and your car is not a subcompact, you should not book a space in the garage. There are sharp, unforgiving right angle turns off the side street on which it is located and an even worse right angle turn to enter the garage at the bottom of the ramp. We had an SUV and had some harrowing moments rocking the car back-and-forth to make the turn and trying to avoid scratching or denting our vehicle. The garage is also very small with few parking spaces, which requires similar gymnastics. It’s not worth the drama.
This is a small hotel in a relatively modern building on a relatively quiet street in the center of Rennes. Our triple room was on the cramped side, but otherwise clean and comfortable. The main selling point for this hotel is its location, just a five minute walk from the walled city.

Initial receptionist in early afternoon was unusually hostile, apparently in a bad mood.
Breakfast very good, location very good, secure parking (not easy to enter in a big car) some staff really helpful. Rooms very well soundproofed at front and good aircon. Rooms at back v quiet. Rooms look reasonable and big beds. Great value

I have no points of dis-satisfaction.
I know this hotel well having stayed there on previous occasions, including with a former work colleague (and also my wife). know it to be well situated, giving first class accommodation and facilities including secure city centre car parking. I shall continue to use the Anne de Bretagne whenever I visit Rennes.

The separate toilet was a little cramped. Being a city hotel the atmosphere was quite clinical with less of the personal touches than the hotels we have stayed in in smaller towns on this trip.
The room was very spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location was excellent - very accessible to arrive by car and also with easy access to the old city centre. The underground car park was brilliant as street parking in the vicinity seemed problematic. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice including regional specialities and freshly squeezed orange juice.

A kettle in the room would be a treat.
This was a nice base for our time in Rennes. The team is very friendly, helpful, and spoke multiple languages. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were great. They held our luggage while we went walking, which was helpful. Easy walk to restaurants, gare, and points of interest.

The floor where I was staying was under construction. I was not told this when I made the reservation. Actually the workers were not noisy. What I didn’t like was that I was not told the hotel would be under construction. On the other hand, the concierge or the person at the front desk, whoever that was, was very helpful and patient. I don’t speak French, so it was a little difficult to communicate, but we managed to do this OK.
The hotel was quiet.
