Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe family room is on the top floor - we knew that. So it's not so much that we didn't like it, or are criticizing it, but after a good night of fabulous frencg food and wine, climbing the stairs certainly took your breath away. But that said, it definitely kept us fit. I guess I would liked to have had a shower curtain covering the bath when you shower. It's nice and powerful, so if you're not careful, you can get the bathroom very wet.
The location was absolutely fantastic. Place des Vosges is a beautiful area within the Marais district. It was chic and we felt safe. There are bars and bistros literally just down the road - they did not disturb us; on the contrary, they gave a fabulous vibe and background hum as we fell asleep. There is a 24/7 just 50 metres away, and Patisseries and cafes everywhere. Just a fabulous location - we felt that we were in a happy, vibrant part of an amazing city. The Hotel was lovely. It's unique, for sure. It has a lovely old school charm, but our family room had all the modern qualities required. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was large enough with a powerful shower. Windows opened, so the superb rooftop views could be enjoyed along with the hubbub of the local area. Staff were absolutely superb! I cannot fault them. They understood that my french was average at best, and they all happily tried to speak English. The young man who greeted us (Henrique?) was absolutely charming and had excellent English. Staff were warm, cordial, and approachable.

The room was clean, a reasonable size for Paris, plenty of light, recently renovated and the location was excellent. Under 5 minute walk to Bastille station and square, easy taxi access, Metres from restaurants and cafes. All but adjoins the Vosges historic square. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and tasty. The staff were all very lovely and helpful.

United KingdomThe staircase carpet is a bit shabby and could do with a refresh. Other than that, I was very happy with the decor and furnishings.
The location next to the Place des Vosges is perfect for me, as I love that part of the Marais. The lady on reception was very friendly, and helpful with selecting items for breakfast. The plants and trees outside make it feel very welcoming - it feels like you're stepping out of the bustle of the city.

BelgiumThe room was very small and the sound insulation was not so great. As is normal in Paris, the price for the room was extremely high. The window was also quite tricky to open and close.
Very good location, friendly and accommodating staff. Good option for a short stay in Paris. Bear minimum and nothing else.

United StatesWe would have loved some tea or coffee with creamer in the room - there was a kettle and cups. When we opened our carry on suitcases it would have been nice to have luggage stands to make them functional. We ended up because of limited room and storage, just leaving our small suitcases closed. There was one chair in the room and good light blocking from the window coverings. The whole room got a little humid from the excellent shower, if you didn't open the skylight.
This quirky little room located at the very top of the hotel meant we were glad we are in good shape for climbing stairs while lifting and balancing suitcases as we arrived and left as quietly as possible. There is an elevator for the middle level rooms. The top floor garret was simple and well done with views over the rooftops, very quiet, with comfortable beds welcome fans and a skylight that could open for air flow if needed. We thought the bathroom was large for French standards with a big tub we wished we had time to soak in on our overnight stay. The shower was large and with good pressure and temperature.

United KingdomThe sheets and duvet cover were very rough and made of seersucker cotton. I know the hotel is very environmentally aware and wash their own sheets -so these are a good choice since they can't be ironed - but too scratchy for me. Also lots of noise from hallway, plumbing and a building being renovated across the road meant that I definitely needed my earplugs - but I would still stay there again since it's a very lovely hotel and the staff were super helpful and friendly.
fabulous location, very atmospheric building and lovely staff
