How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Magnificent hosts who went over and above to help us. Superb communication throughout. Excellent location with castle view (5 mins away) and right at the end of the street with all the restaurants on. Lovely apartment.

There were no problems for us.
The hosts were lovely and friendly throughout. The apartment was lovely and clean with the castle literally on your doorstep. The hosts provided recommendations for places to eat and there were games for the family with some essentials also in the fridge (including a lovely bottle of wine.) We were also able to locate a parking space each time one was needed.

Nothing great value
Location was great just near the castle. Staff met and explained everything and left a bottle of wine which was really nice . Comfortable bed . Kitchen well equipped with everything we needed . Lounge was good to relax on

Everything was great.
Jérôme the host was friendly and super helpful. He collected us from the station, gave us a personal guide on the best restaurants and places to visit in Carcasonnne. He also took our baggage to the station when we left. The Gite was 5 minutes from the Castle and 10 minutes from the city in an excellent location. The Gite was spacious, clean with good facilities. All in all excellent.

Great place to stay. Jerome saved us a car park on the street right out front, and was very flexible with arrival and departure timing to hand over keys.great value for money. No extra costs or surprise fees everything we need was included in the price. Appreciated recommendations for restaurants in the area.

Excellent location close to the castle. Well equipped apartment. Many thanks for the lift from the station, and the wine / snacks. We had a lovely stay.

The property was immaculate, airy and spacious. The location was perfect a short walk to La Cite and to the newer part of town to the train station. Lovely little cafes and restaurants nearby. Our hosts provided recommendations for restaurants and very a welcoming bottle of wine chilled in the fridge. We cannot recommend this property or hosts highly enough, a wonderful apartment in the fabulous city of Carcassonne

It's a 10 walk to the medieval cite which is great but the town is a 20 min walk which could be difficult for some guests.
It is a lovely removated property, with everything you could possibly want and Jerome is great host. Access is by a very steep stairway which may be difficult for elderly or disabled guests.

The staircase wasn't ideal.
The location was excellent and close to bars and restaurants. The host was lovely and we were provided with water, milk, tea, coffee and.... a bottle of wine. All the things you need after a day of travelling. Thank you.

The entrance hall to the apartment was a bit run down, the stairs were steep and the bathroom was tiny. Everything was just "okay" but the whole place could do with an uplift. The towels were like sandpaper and the shower did not have anywheree to put shampoo etc. A shelf would be most useeful.
The apartment was right near the Cite and bars and restaurants. A short walk took you to the bridge over the river and into the main town.
