Rather an early departure time from rooms at 9 am and late check in not until after 5pm. However, we elected to have breakfast at 6.30 and then went across to the cathedral for the early mass which was wonderful. We were actually ready to leave by 9 am.

wonderful atmosphere in the old convent. Smell of baking bread as you arrive which you have for breakfast in th morning. Ideal location next to the Cathedral and near Rocher St Michel. Simple but very comfortable rooms.

Everything was perfect !

Sébastien was such a gracious body. He bakes fresh bread every night. My spotless room had a view of a beautiful statue. Everything is well-organized. I mt was a perfect place to stay right before starting the pilgrimage on the chemin de Saint Jacques.

Nothing! I wouldn’t change a single thing full of charm and nostalgia with fantastic views

Beautiful ancient convent right next to the beautiful Cathedral le Puy. Room was just right for me lovely and clean with extra blankets if need. Separate bathroom/shower and toilet again excellent cleanliness. The breakfast was lovely Sebastian the host made his own bread every morning! Had toast and homemade jam tea/coffee. The building is outstanding full of history and stories to tell, I will definitely be back this trip was for two nights at the start of Camino via le puy or Podiensis

I wouldn't recommend it for people having a problem with stairs or carrying luggage by foot. Difficult to access by car.

Very good breakfast, excellent coffee. Sebastien friendly and careful. Icould leave safely my suitcase at the entrance.The former convent is just by the cathedral, excellent views from the windows, you can approach going through the cathedral.

Accommodation was basic as you expect in a 12 century convent. Great atmosphere in the high town. A little tricky to find. Well worth staying here.

We had a private bathroom which was clean and good looking. For practical reasons I suggest to add a shelf where to put our washbags, toothbrush, shaving utensils etc. There is no possibility there. It's not a big deal but would be nice.

Great location, stylish rooms and friendly host, who we loved to talk about life, the universe and everything :-) He also knows the place well and gives tipps where to go to or eat out. Definitely an excellent address to explore the town or start the camino.

Such a beautiful and historic stay right in the heart of old Le Puy En Velay. Sebastian is a wonderful host, extremely kind, and good for conversation. The rooms and amenities are very simple, but everything a traveler needs. I had a fantastic stay and will return again in the future.

The location is excellent right next to the cathedral. Easy to make the 7am Mass. The welcome was very warm and the entire place was very clean. The rules were communicated in advance so I knew what to expect. You can’t take your sack into the room but only what you need for the night. They provide a basket for that. It keeps everything very sanitary. I felt comfortable and safe. Basic breakfast which provides everything you need.

We liked everything

Such a special place to stay in Le Peu-en-Velay. We had a wonderful big room with windows overlooking the old town. The room had many original features, which was delightful, but it also had a wonderful modern en suite and a large comfortable bed. The Chambres d'hotes was full of character with a winding stone staircase and broad polished floors, all reminders of it's original use as a convent. We had terrible travel problems on arrival and the hosts were so kind to us and made sure we made it to our beds safely. In the morning we had a super breakfast with delightful conversation and advice for our walk. It was the perfect place to start our pilgrimage, just a few minutes from the Cathedral. Very happy memories.

This was an interesting place to stay and our host was very welcoming. It is worth saying that the accommodation is primarily aimed at pilgrims on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage, so compared with more conventional holiday accommodation, the rooms are quite spartan (there is wi-fi though). You are also required to comply with rules such as leaving your bags and shoes in the reception room and just taking what you need into the room in a plastic box which is supplied. This is not a criticism - the accommodation was clean, the bed comfortable and the location was right in the historic town, very close to the statue of the statue of Our Lady of Le Puy.

For me, the pillows were too thick and firm, but that is just my own personal preference. Everything else was just perfect!
