How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Fantastic location - a short, pleasant walk to the citadel and river, but also very quiet with a lovely garden to spend the evening in.

We were missing control for air conditioning. And while during the day or evening +25 felt ok, it was a bit too much for the night
Nice cottage, very close to medieval town, but on a very quiet street. Parking on the street, we had no problems with finding a spot.

The only minor downside was that the tv wasn't a smart tv so only picked up local French networks, but we weren't in the property long enough for it to bother us as we were out exploring the amazing surroundings!
The location was fantastic, walking distance from the train station and close to the castle and many fantastic restaurants. The terrace was wonderful for sitting on with some freshly baked goods for breakfast and a glass of wine in the evenings.

The property is actually a house divided into 2 apartments, when booking I just choose the first accommodation type which showed photos of both apartments so it wasn't very clear what you were getting. Also I have marked down slightly as the apartment was exremely cold for the first 2 days that we were there, we didn't want to use the fan heater too much as it dries out the air and we are both asthmatic.
The apartment was perfect for our 4 night stay, only a 12 minute walk to the Medieval City, there are supermarkets a short drive away and a Boulangerie a few minutes walk. Parking was on the street outside the property. It was very comfortable and had everything you would need - the shower was amazing. Nathalie was very friendly and welcoming.

For us the bed was hard but we purchased a duvet and that helped. The unit above must have a tiled floor so that where we were below we could hear the metal chairs loudly scraping on the floor. A rug would fix that.
It's a very nice and suited us very well. An easy walk to both the fort and in to the Bastide. Nathalie has an immaculate place and has lovely taste. It was roomy, warm and light. Merci beaucoup, Nathalie.

The owner was very welcoming. The property was clean and tidy and the beds comfortable. The owner provided everything we needed tea, coffee, cleaning and laundry supplies and even bottled water.

Fantastic place to stay in Carcassonne! Very well equipped apartment within a 15 minute walk of the old walled city. Comfortable bed, great shower and a lovely court yard garden. Highly recommended!

The wifi is a bit spotty, but that seems to be a problem in all of Carcassonne Other than that it was lovely experience
An excellent location just a 10 min walk away from the castle of Carcassonne. Our host Nathalie was lovely and accommodating and she gave us a run down on all the activities in Carcassonne. The Gite is nicely furnished, everything is spic and span and freshly laundered. She even gave the option of having two single beds or one double bed in a room. I felt really looked after.

We found the double bed a little hard. Wi Fi intermittent. No extractor fan in the loo.
Very nice, spacious,well equipped apartment in a quiet safe neighbourhood 10 minutes walk from both medieval city and old part of Carcassonne. Private courtyard with chairs and table out the back. Natalhie was welcoming and helpful. Great shower in a good bathroom. Will accommodate 4 easily.
