If you want a large room with "real" windows - choose the "deluxe" room; else it can be a bit dark. As the house is built basically "on water", there is sometimes "mold smell"

Very private, colourful, artistic accomodation in perfect (!) location. Many bars and venues are just around the corner (but it's still quiet) and also close to Ville historic centre. Most friendliest owners/personell ever!

It was a charming, quirky place to stay and the hosts were really friendly and welcoming. It was close to the city centre which was also lovely. Breakfast was very good. We would recommend Galerie J S without hesitation.

A fantastic place to stay.

Fantastic place to stay in Lille. The property is located in the older part of Lille, not far from the centre so is lovely and quiet while being just a short walk to shops and restaurants etc. The owners were wonderful hosts and made us feel incredibly welcome without being intrusive. They gave lots of information about the local area. The property itself is wonderfully quirky with lots of character. I had a chance to see all of the rooms (5) and they were all excellent. Our room was on the ground floor and was really lovely with a fabulous large shower room. The room is close to the breakfast area but is really well sound proofed so this was an asset rather than a problem. Breakfast was delicious with a huge choice and all was wonderfully fresh and well presented. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend as a perfect place to stay

The building is gorgeous and covered in beautiful and interesting art and furniture. It was absolutely spotless and very comfortable. really nice location as well, quiet and near a park but easy to walk into the center and other interesting locations. Staff were amazing too!

The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of variety of fresh products. Nicely located and vieux-lille is very easy to reach (7min by walking). Nice property and comfortable rooms (very quiet).

My wife and I spent three nights at the Galerie on a short exploratory trip to the city. The Galerie is an outstanding and very comfortable place to stay with an exceptional breakfast. It's in a wonderful location, with all of Lille's great sites readily accessible, and is truly unique with its links with, and artwork of, the Lille artist, Pierre Olivier. Michel, the host, is delightful and extremely helpful and a font of knowledge about all things to do with Lille and its history.

The breakfast was one of the best we have had when travelling. The fresh bread, croissants and orange juice were delicious. The breakfast room was light and relaxing with a warm atmosphere. Our hosts were engaging and attentive and full of character.
