The hotel does not have it's own WiFi, they seem to rely on a third party local provider. The connection was not available in the room and signal was just about OK at the front in the bar area. So if you need to get work done, you will have to rely on your own phone. We stayed in room 202 and there seemed to be a noisy extractor fan running right outside our door - just one to watch.

Breakfast buffet was amazing. Plenty of off street parking. Very close to the Linga gondola station. We found it a great base for our 3 days skiing. The room was lovely and warm and the shower was very good.

The hotel WIFI was not fantastic in our room- if there was to be a criticism of the stay this would be it. But it was a very minor issue which did not detract from our enjoyment in the least.

The staff were very friendly, some spoke less English than others but with my limited French we managed to get by without any issues. The rooms were simple but clean with small balconies outside. The hotel itself was spotless. Morning buffet breakfast was more than adequate for a day on the slopes. Evening meals were a set 3 course menu of generously portioned local dishes and all were amazing. The bar was quiet and closed at around 10pm (we were too tired to stay up much later than this most nights) but Linga itself is generally quiet so would suggest the short 2.5KM walk into Chatel if nightlife is required. The hotel has a snow-equipment room also with direct access onto the street which was convenient upon returning or leaving. Linga Gondola is maybe 100M up the street. It was a great week and I would definitely stay there again.

Location wise, Linga itself is very quiet with little to do in the evening. There are a couple of restaurants but you’ll need to get a five minute bus to Chatel for apres or any type of shopping. As buses only run till 6:30 you will need to walk back to the hotel after dinner which is a thirty minute walk.

This hotel is seconds from the Linga lift with ski hire shops directly opposite. Getting up and getting out was easy. The property was clean and tidy with welcoming staff.

The breakfast was great but dinner could be improved. It would be better to have even just one alternative rather than a set menu. Would be great to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

We had a triple room which was spacious and the shower was great. The staff were friendly and accommodating - they were happy to store our luggage on the last day. The bar area was comfortable and had plenty of seating. The hotel is very conveniently located for skiing, very near the Linda lift and has a great ski storage room which is easily accessible.

There was no internet since they had issues with the provider. It was not a problem for us but if you plan to get some work done.... It's important to know that if you want to go to the centre of Châtel in the evenings you need to take your car.

Great location to get up to the slopes. enough place to park, ski lockers easily accessible, ski rental and stores next door, simple but confortable room and the hotel has a restaurant and bar for a last drink before bedtime. Breakfast was nice as well and pretty complete (many types of teas and coffees, cereals, viennoiseries, fruits, eggs, ham, pancakes.. The place was perfect for the purpose and well priced.

I know this is France, and we didn’t warn in advance (so my bad!), but my 20 year old daughter is vegetarian (not vegan!) and the kitchen really struggled! If they learnt the difference between veggie and vegan it would have been easier I am sure! Don’t let this put you off. If you have dietary requirements be sure to message ahead and be specific about what you do and and don’t eat.

    1. Proximity to the Linga ski lift. 2. Friendly and helpful staff. 3. Clean and comfortable throughout. 4. Relaxed atmosphere. 5. Great breakfast. 6. Good communication with staff. 7. Making Negronis with the owners!

Needed to ask for a hair dryer.

Very close to ski lift (La Linga) - about 100 metres away. This is on the right side of Chatel for access to Avoriaz. Also, there was a choice of ski hire shops across the road. Excellent breakfast.

Be aware! Booking charges you with the tourist tax and the hotel does it again so you pay twice! If you complain about it at Booking.com you get no response... The hotel staff speaks barely English and mostly French. Difficult to communicate at times, but they try their best.

We have been in this hotel some years ago but the rooms have definitely got an upgrade. Beds are for France really good and comfortable! Breakfast is great. Dinner is served without choice. Eten wat de pot schaft we call that in Holland :-P

Beds were a little narrow and wifi was erratic.

The Hotel Eliova was fantastic - especially the food. Big selection for breakfast of top quality foods. The 3 course evening meal was also great. It was a set menu in the evening but what we had was very good quality. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was nice to relax in the bar with a drink and free nibbles and just go into supper when we chose. All super. :)
