Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us. The location was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum and the water-tasting afterwards. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with a spectacular view of the mountains.

SwitzerlandThe rooms could be refurbished, they feel very old and super small. However the beds and bathroom were comfortable
The location is worth everything. And of course the water tastes like nothing else The hotel is a museum on its own: we had breakfast surrounded by an exhibition. The restaurant was excellent and affordable.

FranceOnly little disappointment was the breakfast buffet which in my opinion wasn't in line with the hotel standing. There was no croissant, only tiny pastries that did not get refilled once gone.
The location is great, right in town, with free parking, on the river! We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant and the visit to the Musee de l'Eau was a nice touch.

FranceBreakfast at additional charge and no fridge or tea making facilities in the room.
The best location right in the middle of town and walking distance to everything. Your stay includes free admission to the museum and there is a decent restaurant on site. if you get a room with a river view then you can pretty much see all the main sights without leaving the hotel :) Warm and comfortable with free parking on site.

United KingdomThis is a rather quirky hotel, situated, as the name infers, on the river as part of the Musée de l’Eau. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, although a little lacking in character. The restaurant was excellent with a superb view over the river. Breakfast is taken in the museum cafe. There is private parking in the courtyard to the museum.

GermanyParking places in the hotel are limited and not bookable. If they are full, finding a place around might be quite challenging. The bathroom was pretty small and, even if materials were of good quality, there was a persistent bad smell coming from the shower sewage. This is why we gave an 8 instead of a 10
Breakfast was excellent (continental style) and the restaurant in the same building was very good as well.

United StatesThe room was a bit small and the bed a bit firm, but it was still a good stay.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. The hotel is nicely situated in a natural surrounding of a small town. I had a room on the 4th floor with a little bit of a view. Parking was very convenient.

BelgiumNothing I can think of.
Room was basic but quite comfortable; as I had expected. Receptionist very helpful in both check-in and checking my biking routes for the next day (although unfortunately my target road was closed). Free entrance to the Museum of water for hotel guests was a bonus. Restaurant was a bit basic in decor, but the food was quite good. A popular destination for the locals. Breakfast was more or less what you would expect.

United KingdomTo get to the river for a swim, you have to wear clothes and trek through and round the hotel.
Quirky little hotel, overlooking the river in a pretty mountain village. Room 401 was a good size with a good shower, no way of containing water in the sink to shave though, which wastes a huge amount of hot water every time if you wet shave. There was a free bottle of water in the room, no kettle and no English TV channel, not even free BBC News. Food in the restaurant was good, good breakfast. Good views of the river from bedroom window.

FranceParking was in a small courtyard outside the hotel. We arrived early and were given immediate acces to our rooms. Hotel is situated next to the river with a nice walk along the banks. The restaurant was happy to accomodate a gluten free request from one of our party for the evening meal by exchanging items on the menu.

United KingdomPublic parking was nearby as hotel carpark always full, but we always managed to find somewhere to park close by. Hotel restaurant seemed expensive and limited choice - too many ravioli dishes ! Mine came without sauce - a bit dry. Bed was quite narrow and walls were a bit thin.
Pont en Royans was a good place to stay to explore the Vercors - we stayed 4 nights. Most expeditions required drive to 3000 ft. There were limited options for food in the town in the evening - at least in early May. Window view from top floor of the river was good . Good breakfast but expensive -€12/pp Photos of water on stairs were nice. Nice to have a restaurant on site with a brilliant view, but.....see below Good walk up to the 3 chateaus above the town. Lovely views, good orchids and butterflies.
