Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanWiFi didn’t work well in the room I stayed.
I enjoyed the pool the most! I stayed 3 nights in total and managed to get to use the pool just myself. The staff are very nice, welcoming, and responded swiftly to my queries on the system. There is a fan in the room which was helpful at night especially in August heat.

The location was superb! It’s nestled away in a quiet area. It was so quiet I had trouble sleeping (I’m from a big city so this is certainly a personal problem!!). It’s perfectly situated near Verdon Gorge and the lavender fields. Next to the hotel is a beautiful castle which makes for an unbelievable view! The pool is lovely. The hotel itself is old and beautiful. It doesn’t have AC but we came in the middle of July where it was in the 80s during the day. It was nice and cool and breezy at night, even chilly, so it really wasn’t necessary! The hotel has a restaurant which we did not eat at but looked lovely.

United StatesNot so much a dislike but for expectation management: the hotel is a bit older (but very charismatic). Don't expect luxury appliances. The rooms are beautiful, full of character and clean.
Beautiful hotel with gorgeous views on a nearby castle. Cute restaurant for dinner with a stunning outdoor balcony. Great bed and good wifi. We loved our stay!

Lithuania..
The aura of the villa, the staff and the pool were fabulous and we enjoyed staying in two rooms with our kids. No air conditioning is something that makes all good thing a tiny bit worse, but… we survived the July heat in Provence.

IsraelWe visited in July which is a hot season and I didn’t notice when I booked that there is no AC in the room which was disappointing, but the fan helped a lot. Also for the price we paid I would think that I would get more than the basic room which there was even no water or shampoo and there was no tour to show us the pool or anything else the hotel had to offer.
Looks pretty nice from the outside and has a French style inside which was nice. The room was very basic with no air conditioning but there was a fan that was very helpful. There is parking which is important.

United KingdomThere is no air con but there was a fan in the room which made up for it. There was a bit of noise in evenings from the town but it finished quite early.
Great hotel! I was travelling on my own and the owners made me feel very comfortable. Good location in amongst everything, there is a bus stop outside but having a car is better. The pool was so nice and great to visit in the afternoons. The room was clean and comfortable.

ItalyVanessa! With her hospitality and her kindness made our stay even more beautiful than we could imagine. This place has a marvellous garden, with a beautiful view on Château d'Allemagne. The food cocked for dinner was fresh and good. The pool is relaxing and good looking, like the whole place, with a lot of well placed details. This was an authentic France Experience, pleasing for the eye and reconciling for the soul. Thanks :)

FranceOur room was hot at night, it would benefit from a/c but the weather was extremely hot outside at the time. It’s a traditional original building so this is to be expected really. Great place 👍

United KingdomThe location is very beautiful, but difficult to access if you do not have a car! The hotel was exceptional and the owner very nice and helpful. She booked a doctor visit in the neighbouring town for us and also helped us getting a taxi as we didn't have a car. The rooms were very nice and comfortable, although they were a bit warm. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, from pancakes to homemade cakes.

GermanyThe beds were a little hard and there was no AC, although we were there during some extremely warm weather - I'm sure it's not a problem any other time of the year.
Peaceful and lovely little hotel right next to Château d'Allemagne en Provence. Dinner and breakfast were wonderful. The host was very friendly and welcoming. It's a short drive to the Verdun Gorge or the lavender fields. The pool is small but very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here with our children. If you're lucky, you can get a room with a view of the Chateau! The lack of AC is actually a nice thing, because you can fall asleep listening to the tinkling of sheep bells in the pasture, the swallows chirping, and the doves cooing.

GermanyThe room left a lot to be desired. We found a couple live spiders (some of them rather large) in our room each night and there were cobwebs on the chandelier above our bed. The toilet ran constantly if you didn't work to make it stop. The bed was not comfortable. The shower curtain was very dirty at the bottom and needs replacement more often. The breakfast was just okay - I would have liked more hot/cooked options. It was mostly bread, yogurt, cold cuts. The "omlet" offered was a small folded egg that was served cold. THE WIFI IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We were constantly disconnected every 2 minutes and this happened in every area of the property. This needs serious attention - by far this was the most frustrating thing about the stay. Reliable wifi is a must for any property, as most visitors likely won't have local cell service.
The location was great - that was the best thing about the stay. Getting around to other small towns/areas nearby was easy and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The property and grounds are pretty. The quaint little town nearby had a nice bakery and a bar if we wanted to treat ourselves and we enjoyed the short walk there. The woman who greeted us every day was pleasant and friendly. It was quiet and the room had shutters that allowed us to have "black-out" darkness for sleep.
