There was an unpleasant odor in the elevator in our building. We also had rooms above those with terraces that allowed smoking and were awoken by cigarette smoke several times. Our son has asthma and is very sensitive to smoke.

Location and access to the cliffs and beach were amazing. Hotel breakfast at the bistro was delicious with an amazing outdoor seating area and view. We loved going for early morning walks along the cliffs.

Only downside? We had to leave ;)

We stayed at Dormy House Hotel in Étretat during our honeymoon road trip and it was an absolute dream. Perfect location above the cliffs, and they surprised us with an upgrade to a stunning room with ocean view. Stylish, cosy, super comfortable. French quiet luxury at its best. Would 100% go back.

Someone was smoking on a balcony near our room and the smell of smoke came into our room on a number of occasions. There was a strange smell in the lift and corridor. The bed was small and not very comfortable.

Sadly, we didn't love this place as much as we were hoping to. There were issues with the room - the shower drain was extremely slow to drain, which meant you were standing in the shower water and you had to keep turning off the shower to let it drain. The coffee machine in the room was broken and leaked water everywhere. The breakfast buffet was almost empty each time we went down (once early, once later, but still an hour before it ended). The tables were all dirty and it was hard to find a clean table to sit. We ordered food at the bar one afternoon and whatever we ordered they said they were out of. We enjoyed the hot tub but it was not private, as it was in the grass outside of the room and there was no gate or anything. People walking up the hill were coming over to the hot tub, because it wasn't obvious it was part of our room. I really wanted to love this place because of how beautiful it was, but unfortunately there were a lot of problems, especially for the amount we paid for the room.

The buildings and grounds were beautiful and the view of the cliffs were absolutely amazing. The location was perfect and it was an easy walk to get into town. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and looking at the view after exploring the town all day.

Dormy House is a special place. All of the staff were pleasant, helpful and professional. The room was in a perfect location, clean, beds were comfortable. I could watch the sunset from my room.

We wish there'd been a fan or AC in our room as it got a little warm at night. We were hesitant to keep the windows open as it was pretty buggy outside during our stay (which I realize the hotel cannot control!)

This property is one of the prettiest places we've ever stayed. The views are stunning. The attention to detail is incredible. We loved having a drink while overlooking the beach below. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

As we visited Dormy House after a public holiday Thursday staying on Friday night it was very loud and noisy. I would not book here at the weekend or on a public holiday again but rather out of season. Although we booked and paid for a parking space in advance, finding a spot was difficult when we arrived after 16.00 hrs.

Nice hotel on the cliffs overlooking Étretat and a short walk to Falaise d'Aval. Very good breakfast and excellent dinner in the evening.

Parking and breakfast are overpriced (note, they are optional..but who wants to park down a hill with a family and many luggage…). Rooms a little small for the price, but very clean and well optimized.
