No aircon in the rooms so uncomfortable on a warm night. Parts of the site are semi derelict. Needs a lot of money to be spent to make it really nice, which would then make it a really great place to stay. Lunch and dinner a bit hit and miss.

Amazing place - sprawling in the extreme. Unlike any hotel we have ever stayed at before. Nice smallish pool, clean rooms , good breakfast

Since our last visit they have changed the menues and while there is nothing wrong with Fish and Chips and Burger and Chips it is not what we go to France for,having said that all of the food was well prepaired and very tasty.

We have stayed at this Hotel before, the rooms are in what was the old prison blocks so are large and airy, The staff are very helpful. The grounds are vast and include an 18 hole Golf Course, so you can wander at will.

THe rooms are indeed basic when compared to the rest of the hotel facilities. But the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. and it wouldn't take much to improve them.

We couldn’t get WiFi in our rooms (430 and 431) Room tea tray only had paper cups. Surely china mugs possible? No milk either and v limited selection of tea (I had to ask for English breakfast tea on both days.) No fan in one room.

Price quality ratio would assume that the bathrooms would be better equipped. I especially miss tissue paper (Kleenex), the shower gel/shampoo bottle in the shower was almost empty. Small things like this mean a lot. It would also be nice to have a lockbox in the room.

This was my second visit to Domaine de Roiffé. I travel by car and one of the best things is I do not need to worry about parking. The estate is lovely and quiet, restaurant is great and there is plenty to do there if you're an outdoorsy person.

I have stayed here before a while back, it is a quirky set up in that you don't stay in one building as there are several large 3 storey buildings arranged down a central street with the reception, restaurant and pool located at the end. There is also a games room, crazy golf and a countryside walk you can do. The pool was very warm and very welcomed after the days motorbike ride and the restaurant was good, which is a good job as there isn't anything around within walking distance. Staff were all nice and friendly and the room was clean, spacious and peaceful.

Dog owners be aware that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant or public places. We booked because it said dogs were allowed and I emailed in advance, but we weren't told the above fact until we checked in, which rather spoiled the visit for us. The room's neighbours' plumbing was very loud and the staircase echoes were too particularly first thing in the morning.

It didn’t bother us so much as the weather was dry, but the rooms being apart from the main building could be a problem for some.

The dinner and breakfast were very good. Comfortable room which was very clean. Interesting to be staying in an building which was once a penitentiary!!

The public areas of the lodges were rather scruffy and the modern decor if the rooms looked a bit cheap (Novotel-ish). The dinner menu was good but limited and nothing special.

Very cute to see ducks using the swimming pool, but less nice having their poo.

Excellent room and comfortable beds. Delightful gardens. Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. Excellent and good value dinner at the restaurant. Lovely pool of good size and well suited for young kids.
