Powerful shower went cold after a few minutes so may require some enhancement. Having to pay an extra €8 per night to park the car on site felt a bit unreasonable.

Self contained unit is cool, has its own little private space outdoor too. Good to have the kitchen facilities. Furniture was all useful for a good stay. Restaurants and the sea are all within walking distance.

The cottage room was beautifully done. The downstairs rooms in the main hotel could do with a little refresh

Great location, beautiful garden - perfect for our 3-year old to play in - and friendly staff. It was very peaceful and there was easy parking.

There could be a little roof in front of the cottage. There's a tiny "terrace" with a table and chairs, but there's no roof on top of it, just some wooden decorations. So you can't use them during a rain. Also, no good place to garage bikes if you are worried about the rain (you can put them in front of the cottage, but no roof; there's a tiny bike shelter in the car park, but it has like a 0.5m roof, so the bike won't fit under the roofed part [also there was no space when we stayed there]).

We've stayed in one of the cottages (no 1), as someone mentioned in the comments this cottage has a bit worse entry (no grass, dark), but it didn't really bother us. The cottages are in a great shape, with a small kitchenette. There's a heater in the "room" and in a wall heater in the bathroom. We've stayed in the summer so not much use, but I see them being useful in the other seasons as the large windows don't provide the best insulation. Great location, close to the bike path which goes to the 2 Caps (~10km ride to Cap Griz-Nez), walking distance to a Carrefour and a boulangerie; short drive to Boulougne sur Mer.

It's of course not reachable with common public transport. But apart from that, it's amazing!

Everything is amazing. No words can describe how satisfied I was. Recommended to revisit and stay. It's a bit in the pricy side but the price worth everything you will find there.

Upon arrival it was very hot in the room (flat roof). The small airco didn't help much, luckily the cool evening breeze cooled the room down. It would have been nice if the bar/reception was open a bit longer than 7 pm. Or if they would have an honesty (snack) bar.

The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood, 5 minutes walking from the supermarket and 10 minutes walking from the beach. Private (paid) parking, comfy bed, large bathroom, private terrace and nice breakfast.

The main thing I didn’t like was that we were in a ground floor room with two doors - one to access the internal corridor and one to access the garden (which was very useful). But there were no windows, no air conditioning. It was a hot night and both my husband and I need a cool airy bedroom to sleep. I asked reception for a fan but they had none. The only option was to have the door to the garden open slightly (with a suitcase wedged up against it) which made me uneasy and was extremely insecure. The hotel needs to invest in a few fans to make hot nights more comfortable. The other inconvenient feature was the loose stones in the car park making it very difficult to wheel a suitcase to reception.

The room was very tastefully decorated and to a good standard.

It was very damp in the room. They had a dehumidifier running the whole time, but even with that, it was uncomfortably humid - even the books we brought got damp and the pages curled. Plus the dehumidifier and the fridge were very loud, the place overall was not the cleanest, the toilet smelled quite bad, and there was not much space to hang things. For the price (we had the room with a bathtub and sauna), we would have expected a higher quality of the room overall.

The location was convenient with a couple of restaurants walking distance. The bed was big and they gave us an extra pillow when we asked for it. The staff was pleasant. The private sauna was nice, especially as the room was so damp and smelled a bit off, and the shower was big and comfortable.

If you need air conditioning, this isn't the place for you, but the absence of air conditioners contributed to the lovely quiet, especially in the garden. So for me this was a bonus rather than a negative point.

Friendly, well maintained, quiet hotel on the edge of the charming town of Ambleteuse. A short walk to the main restaurants in the town. The beach is about 20 minutes walk away or 5 mins in a car. Excellent welcome, especially from the ever-friendly Julie.
