Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast is nice but expensive for what it is. 72€ for a family of four for two days is quite a bit, especially as the younger kids are only having a croissant and some fruit. Making a child rate available would be helpful.
The room, location and staff were superb. This is our second time staying and it did not disappoint. Plenty of space in the family room. The location is right in the midst of the historic town.

United KingdomGreat character. Lacks some of the facilities of a Holiday Inn type of anonymous hotel and such chains are soulless places. This hotel is small but ideally located and the staff are charming. If you like a touch of history, charm and character then this is a place to stay. If you want a restaurant, bar and easy parking you have plenty of choice elsewhere.

United KingdomAt check in we did wait around 15 minutes for someone to come to the reception area and check us in. Apart from that all was good.
The location was perfect and close to everywhere we wanted to go. We didn't use the breakfast facilities but it did look good. The room was a little warm as there is no air conditioning, but the pedestal fan did the trick. The room had a lovely roof terrace with two comfortable chairs to sit and relax. The hotel is old and authentic and so a little quirky. We loved it.

United KingdomDirty pants from previous guest left in one room and toilet paper in toilet so don't think bathroom was cleaned. Empty gin bottle left in bathroom of another room from previous guest. Lots of stains on white linen on all beds. Toilet paper not replenished so had to ask. Water bottles that were supposed to be in rooms were non existant in two of the rooms. No kitchen in family room although it stated there was one when booking. We needed to be able to cook a little so this was an issue. Toilet flush broken in one of the rooms and it only flushed intermittently. Lack of hot water at breakfast to make tea.
Very comfortable beds. Great location, very close to the Cathedral. Breakfast really good with lots of choice apart from hot water.

United KingdomThe weather was very hot, air conditioning would be advantageous but understandably difficult to install in such an old hotel but providing fans in the rooms would help
centrally located for Rouen old town, the hotel provides a good service at a reasonable price, the breakfast was very nice in a lovely setting

United StatesThe bathroom was very small and the room was also a bit small.
The location of the hotel was excellent - just around the corner from the cathedral and the Joan of Arc museum. The main building is a very old historic building. The breakfast was served buffet style and had plenty of choices.

United KingdomWe had two separate sets of guest staying in the next room on consecutive nights and the walls seemed to be made of paper! It was far to easy to hear the simplest of conversation from them every night. Perhaps this is a reflection of the age of the property?
Excellent location in a very old building right in the heart of Rouen, almost within touching distance of the cathedral. Our 'budget' room had an internal courtyard view, pleasant enough. Although just off a main pedestrian route and close to main road, the hotel was generally quiet and peaceful. We only had breakfast on the last day, it was reasonably priced and adequate.

CanadaParking is a 5 minute walk away - that’s OK but unloading car is tough on a busy street.
Great location at a very fair price. The bed was the most comfortable ever in a hotel! Breakfast was very good - lots of choice and big coffee cups!

United KingdomThe old building impacts the hotel’s facilities . The room was a good size and comfortable . The pictures from booking.com did not quite match the rooms we stayed in which was a minor disappointment.
Location is amazing but you are staying in a historical building right in the middle of the historic centre of the city .
