Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe property seems to be near some old sewage plumbing so there was a sewage smell half the time we were there. Rooms are incredibly small.
Fantastic location and nicely redone hotel - very hip and fun colors and photography. Good food and great patio where you can relax and watch the paragliders land.

FranceSize of the small room is REALLY small. I was coming back from doing the TMB staying in all sorts of places, but all larger and cheaper than this room. Sink is tiny and almost on top of the bed, so you inevitably spill water all over the place.
Location is perfect to walk around town - near shops, bus stops, mountain cable stations. Ok for short stays with minimal time spent in room.

AustraliaBreakfast was nice, but felt it could be a little more extensive.
Good Hotel located in a convenient location. Great for a short stay. Easy to walk around town, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets close by. I booked a small double room (which it was), however perfect for a one night stay.

United StatesThe entrance patio seating area needs some attention. Like sweeping and organizing patio seating. Just inside the door where reception/bar is located appeared a bit disorganized.
Location was great. Although the small street could be beautified a bit. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Like the large window in my room that could be opened to allow in fresh air.

United StatesBreakfast not included. Chamonix more expensive than environs I think.
We arrived well after 4 pm--but our room was not ready. So, we and another guest in the same situation enjoyed some beers, on the house, on the terrace. Turned out to be a very pleasant delay. Location was nice--hotel is just off the main busy pedestrian thoroughfare, but it is tucked away on a quiet side street. Very small room (as advertised), but it had comfortable bed and utilitarian, albeit small, bathroom. No complaints. Our bags was delivered to the hotel, and we were able to store it there until our afternoon departure.

United StatesI don’t think it was worth the amount I paid to be honest! The rooms were way small and the hotel I stayed at down the road the night before was cheaper, nicer, and had included breakfast. Would not stay again for those reasons
The bed was very comfortable , cute cafe downstairs

United StatesThere were no blinds or curtains on the window. While the mountain view was amazing, there was no privacy when changing. Also, did not appreciate the very early morning sun shining in the window when trying to sleep in.
Location was great! Located in the pedestrian only portion of Chamonix.

AustriaNot sure why bathrooms in France always remind me of bathrooms in Nepal. Tap was loose and the drain was pretty clogged. Blinds where kind of makeshift tied to the window handle, but almost worked. Brekkie buffet, well., my €14 probably paid for the whole buffet. At least there’s not going to be much waste.
Location, location, location. It doesn’t get much more central when it comes to Chamonix. The rooms are simple but beautifully renovated. I like the simplicity.

United KingdomThe room was a little small for 3 adults. The mezzanine was not that easy to access, and the room was ridiculously hot all night. There is a/c which is fine, but there should be a fan or 2 provided to keep the air moving. There is no lift which for 3 very tired hikers was an emotional moment when we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs.
Well located, lovely terrace

Trinidad and TobagoThe room was very small and the wifi did not work well in the room.
The location is very good, 10 minutes walk from the train and bus station. The room though very small, had multiple plug out lets including USB charging ports. It was also clean and had a great view of the mountains. The price was very budget friendly and they have a beautiful out door patio with excellent mountain views. I will certainly stay again.

FranceCosmique hotel is the best place for money you'll find in downtown Chamonix. Perfect location, in the city center but slightly away from the fuss, 2minutes away from St Michel parking and bus stops. The rooms are cosy, the design is awesome and the bar and the terrasse are the perfect addition to the vintage vibe of your stay.
