We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomBreakfast times are not as indicated in online adverts, nor as on the dining room door. Quite confusing. The bathrooms are quite cramped, as dictated by the Auguste Perret design of the building. Noise insulation is limited, though the replacement double glazed windows are a distinct improvement.
Location is good. An easy walk to the seafront, two minutes from the trams, connecting to bus/ train hub. Code access to hotel out of hours. Receptionist was very helpful and polite.

United KingdomWe were instantly made welcome by kind and helpful staff. The hotel was ideally located and perfect for our needs. We parked outside on the road which was not expensive. The room was small but perfect for our short stay. We both slept comfortably and had a relaxed and very pleasant breakfast. I have no hesitation in highly recommending anyone to stay here.

CanadaI had one hiccup with check-in. When booking, I noted their check in was until 10pm. So I made sure I would arrive with extra time (9pm). I stepped out of my taxi at 9:15pm to locked doors. I knocked on the doors but there was no response, movement in the dark foyer. I ended up turning on my roaming so that I could call the hotel. The gentleman was very prompt and helpful and welcomed/unlocked the doors right away. Once connected to the Hotel's wifi, i discovered that they had emailed me around 8:30pm with the access code and instructions for my arrival. Unfortunately as I was travelling and dependent on wifi, this was not effective communication. Perhaps, might I suggest for travellers to take advantage of the wifi at the train sations before hopping in a taxi/bus. And better yet, I suggest that the hotel make this communication some days prior so plenty of time for travellers without data to know what to expect. Otherwise, very pleasant stay and still would recommend staying here.
The location was ideal. Very close to the downtown and beach. I found the room well laid out and relatively spacious. And very cute. Helpful and responsive staff. Lovely breakfast.

FranceThis hotel is unacceptable and I demand a full refund. The room was completely different from the photos: tiny, dirty, with peeling wallpaper, an unmade dirty bed, and a bathroom in terrible condition with rotten soap. I also woke up with multiple itchy bites on my arms, back, and legs — a clear sign of possible bedbugs or other insects. Management refused to change my room, claiming no availability, while Booking showed multiple rooms for the same date. We were pressured to pay extra just to change dates, and communication was a nightmare — both the hotel and Booking kept passing responsibility. Due to the unhygienic and unsafe conditions, we did not stay at the hotel at all and immediately left for another property. This is a serious health and safety issue, and I expect a full refund immediately.
