It would've been better if we didn't have to leave

I had dreamt of an elegant French experience and picked Colivault randomly. We were not disappointed, receiving a delightful, authentic, personal experience on every level. Everything was wonderful, in particular the effort our hosts afforded each aspect of our stay. There were unexpected treasures in every corner, I loved the sprawling gardens, outdoor seating spots, the secluded pool and the absolutely immaculate housekeeping, which was most unexpected.

This place is truly beautiful and clean – a little piece of paradise. The room was very spacious, spotless, and well-organized. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. There's a lovely garden with trees, lawns, and a fun pool. But most importantly – the host, Richard, is absolutely wonderful. From the first moment we felt at home. He takes care of everything as if we were part of his own family. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely come back in the future!

We were a family of four in the family suite. We could not have been happier with everything; the rooms, the garden, the pool, our wonderful hosts and the list goes on. Breakfast was delicious, served in the garden. We truly did not want to leave. Richard and Sophie were attentive, and we felt very welcome.

We loved every bits and pieces!

Super accommodation! The property and the garden are stunning, the interior is spot on as well. The beds were comfortable, and you can find everything what you might need during your stay. The pool area is lovely, a place where you can relax. Plenty of breakfast with some home-made pieces as well available! The host are extremely friendly and always happy to provide tips for the area!

We absolutely loved this place! It was calm and tranquil, the perfect spot to relax. We were treated with such warmth and hospitality. The house is a beautiful old French château with charming decor and character. The bathroom was very comfortable and modern, offering all the conveniences we needed. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented, served in a stunning dining room that added to the charm of the stay. The grounds are lush and green, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We received a wonderful welcome and truly felt at home. Highly recommended!

Of many chateau stays we've done, this is top tier due to many aspects: Pristine rooms (thanks to Roobina, who cares for the property exceptionally well); Richard was a caring and impeccable host; the thoughtful personal touches that make a guest truly feel honored and welcome, like an elegant tray with tilleul for tea (fresh from the tree) and honey from the family's bees, and fresh-cut roses from the gardens. Superb beds that make you want to sleep all day. We kept saying we wished we had reserved several nights (but they were already full). You definitely need 2-3 nights here, it is just that good snd so relaxing. We will be back!

We loved everything!

We loved everything about our stay. The suite was incredibly comfortable, clean and stylish. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. Richard is the perfect host with nothing being too much trouble.

The property is old and has great character but some parts could benefit from some fresh paint. But this did not affect the enjoyment of the place.

Breakfast, rooms, character property, log fire, host, furnishings, restaurant advice. Homemade jams, home grown fruits, orahes, lemons and apples. Also own honey. Richard our host was very helpful and friendly. He added to our three night stay amongst the Chateaux a gastronomic tour of the best nearby restaurants. His recommendations were excellent.

Staying at Colivault was one of the highlights of our trip to Northern France. We stayed in the 2 bedroom renovated cottage next to the house. It was superb!! Clean, comfortable, with all the amenities needed. We loved our host Richard. His hospitality was unmatched. He showed us his gardens, farm, made delicious breakfasts, made us fires, made dinner reservation in town for us, and shared stories of the property. We preferred to be at Colivault over exploring the area. We enjoyed our time that much there.

Our stay was way too short!

An absolutely amazing place to stay! I would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the grounds. Our room (or actually an apartment!) was large, comfortable and furnished with excellent taste. The breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room, and it was over the top. Our host gave us a perfect restaurant recommendation (Brut maison de cuisine in Blois) and spent time discussing various things while we enjoyed breakfast. I will definitely be back to Colivault!

Colivault is a very authentic and beautiful property with an amazing host. Richard was kind, hospitable, and passionate about Colivault - French architecture, gardens, orchards, horses, and the highest quality French food. We really enjoyed our large suite and the evening fires Richard started for us. Wonderful breakfasts and the home made jams and honey were much appreciated and enjoyed. Richard was never too busy to share his property and its history with us. Sophie and Richard made our stay special and we felt like special guests in a French chateau.

Richard is the host where nothing is too much trouble and made every effort to make our stay memorable. The grounds are a pleasure for that get away from it experience. The wine was a nice bonus and tasted excellent. Breakfast excellent. So all in all deserves it’s high recommends!
