How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Exceptional courtesy and customer service by host Sylvie, including the generous breakfast with personalized service. The apt was clean with a relaxing ambience and all the amenities for guests comfort. Highly recommended for all types of travelers.

A great stay. Sylvie treated us warmly. The breakfast was very delicious The room was clean and bright with a balcony. I will definitely stay here again next time!

We rented 2 rooms in this well decorated and very nice guesthouse. It is located in the country side in a beautiful area. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Great breakfast. Sylvie, the host is extremely nice and welcoming. She also assisted us in planning our last day in the Black Forest and Alsace.

The room was amazing, very big and clean with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was great! Staff was friendly and ready to help to find restaurant and attractions in the area. We also appreciated the private parking.

Nice lady (Sylvie) and nicely furnished room. Everything was well thought out. Great parking next to the front door. Pool table and lounge area. Nice breakfast included. Great value for the money. Excellent!! Nice people at the pizza place a short walk away.

everything was perfect. the owner is really polite and you can really see that she is really in love with her job. It's always a pleasure to find this type of location when you are traveling for business and you want to feel at home. rooms are big and very well clean. breakfast complete and made with high quality and fresh products. much better than stay in a cold and anonymous business hotel :)

Absolutely everything. I’ve stayed in many accommodations across Europe and have never felt so comfortable and welcomed. Sylvie should get a trophy for best Booking host! Not only were we impressed with the hospitality, but how immaculately clean the house was. The breakfast was the cherry on top :)

If someone finds something negative about this place, I am dying to find out what it was…
I have only found two guesthouses in the (more than 20) years that I am traveling around the globe, being so good that there are no words powerful enough to describe them. This is the second one. And it’s amazing. No matter what you expect to see or experience when you get there, it will be far better than this. Thistle Guesthouse in Scotland, opposite of Inveraray Castle in St. Catherine’s is the first one. If you are close to one of these two and they are available go one and book them. And don’t do the mistake that I did and only stay there for a night…

Very well decorated and maintained house. All is in perfect condition and super clean. Owner is friendly, helpful, looks after her guest with great care and accommodates each preferences with a smile. Quiet area, beautiful terrasse and excellent breakfast.

I wouldn't change a thing.
I stayed at Maison d hotes Coeur de Village Alsace & spa during my solo 18-day cycle ride along the Rhine, this was the twelfth day of the trip. I liked everything about this B&B - the ambience, the room, the common space inside and out. It was all top notch. Sylvie, the owner was wonderful and helpful with my travel arrangements. I would have liked to have stayed longer to enjoy the morning but was short of time so I left early. There is a communal table for breakfast and I'm sorry I was not there to meet the other guests for longer than just a few minutes. I hope to come back to Maison d hotes Coeur de Village Alsace, it's a very special place and there are good reasons why it is so highly rated.

Sylvie was a fantastic host, answering all of our questions before we arrived. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent with wonderful fresh breads & preserves & great coffee. The room was clean & cool - we slept very well. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.

Big comfortable house with great common areas. Beautiful terrace, where breakfast is served if weather allows it. Check in was super simple, we came after 19h so we found our keys in the little locker by the door. Easy communication with the host per booking.com. Great breakfast

Very quiet and very modern accommodation. The owner contacted us the day before to hear when we would be arriving and was very friendly. Nice accommodation, great local breakfast with lot's of choices of local products.
