Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsI got the feeling some people weren't using this as a hotel to stay, but as a place to live. Also resulting in people moving around in the middle of the night or listening to loud stuff on speakers, the sound of which will enter your room in the middle of the night. The bed was a bit noisy, so you could hear other guests/occupants moving around in their beds as well. There was a shared shower and toilet for all guests/occupants. No real privacy. Many parts of this place seemed rather unfurnished, unfinished, or a bit uncleanly. I didn't really see a way to open the room window to let in some fresh air.
The room wasn't very expensive, and the people helping me around were trusting and provided good information on the stay. There is free parking very close by! And from Saint-Pol-Sur-Mer (hotel location), it isn't too far to reach nice museums or the Dunkirk beaches by car (and public transport is free and provides a direct line to Malo-Les-Bains for instance). The beach area of Dunkirk proper seems really well developed and just a very nice place to spend the day or night.

United KingdomYou can’t even rest in the place beyond the smell mouldy the whole entire house was smelling , I’ve just deceived to pay money somewhere else don’t make my mistake, and I blame the booking app just for adding something like thi in their list ,very scary place in terms of the condition the way is placed
This is a disaster of a piece to pay money for it and waste your time , I’ve booked this last night ,the smell of mould in the whole place was unbearable , do not pay money for this I paid I went there when I saw the condition of the place i left the place in 5 min of the stay

United KingdomI didn't like everything, how can you suggest something like that to anyone, it's some nightmare, the smell of a ruin. Some smell of mold and mildew in the room and excessively sprayed with air freshener so that there was no smell. I wonder if anyone from Booking.com checked it before it was made available. I would suggest that someone from the Booking.com management stay there overnight and how many minutes they would last. The host was not available on site when I wanted to file a complaint. I would like a refund because I did not receive the service that was declared. I did not stay there for a minute and wanted to leave as soon as possible. No indication of the apartment number. I traveled 1600 km and wanted to find accommodation before the ferry to England that I had in the morning. And here such a nightmare happens to me. And I had to choose the next accommodation also from the Booking.com application B&B Hotel Dunkerque Centre gare, Dunkirk France. I do not demand much, the conditions in the room may be modest but clean and not a hidden stench. I have a question, I paid twice for two reservations and now I don't know how to file a complaint to get a refund?

United KingdomI arrived after 4pm on a motorbike after a really hot day - 30 deg C. Despite the fancy sounding name , there is no sign or anything indicating a hotel . The area is quite rundown , what we would describe as dodgy in England . The agreement was that I would receive check in directions before 4pm , nothing was received and the phone number stated was not working . As I couldn’t exactly stand around waiting for a message that might never come , I booked another hotel (B&B Hotel a few minutes away that I would recommend ) and checked in there. As I left two other guests were also scratching their heads trying to work out what to do, I saw them later and they had also been unable to get access. Eventually just before 5 pm I received a message with check in instructions. I explained that I had been unable to access the property and would like a refund . At this point the story gets a bit mad , I get a message with a picture of someone else on cctv accusing me of accessing the property . I calmly explained it wasn’t me , but received aggressive messages back . Clearly they weren’t going to give a refund despite the fact that they had failed to provide any signage to show the so called hotel actually existed and didn’t provide the check in details on time . I can’t comment on the actual room as I could get in, other reviews aren’t that positive . The area it’s in is also a bit dubious and frankly I would be scared to park my motorbike overnight . My advice considering the poor service and aggressive attitude is to book somewhere else .
