We loved everything. For a last night of a 3 week road trip, it was excellent. The pool was great. The restaurant was really cute, no great choice of meal but it seemed healthy and freshly cooked.

The SPA area was not only pretty full, but guests were blocking relax chairs without using them - felt more like Mallorca than a relaxing hotel. Furthermore, the whirlpool is located in the middle and is - by nature - very noisy, so there is no quiet time.

Apart from this hotel being history-loaded for my wife and me (here we got together during a company retreat/training over 20 years ago), the proximity to all the nice cities of Alsace, while being totally silent is just great. Breakfast is really nice, too.

The hotel was disappointing, especially for the price. We stayed for four nights. Our room never got cleaned properly. Housekeeping gave us new water and toilet paper twice, but that's all they did. No clean towels, no vacuuming, etc. Our shower had black mould dripping from the shower head and the room was very dusty. The staff was (with the exception of 1 receptionist) not very friendly and they didn't really speak any other languages than French (even though their badges said they could). The restaurant was very slow. We had to wait for our main course for 2 hours. The staff kept running around without paying attention to the customers. Many tables were being ignored. Breakfast was not very good. On the busy mornings a lot of things ran out quickly, but in general the quality wasn't very high (soggy croissants). The hotel is located next to a relatively busy road, so when you relax at the Spa, you will have the calming background sounds of cars and bikes passing by.

The Spa area was nice, the bed was comfortable, we could charge our electric car for free.

Room was too hot so had to ask receptionist to switch air conditioning on ( centrally set and couldn’t adjust it in the room) Also pool didn’t open until 9.30 and we had to be away early so didn’t get the benefit We paid extra for a balcony and it was scruffy and no view.

Booked for a special birthday treat. On arrival the gates were locked and the person on the intercom told us the hotel was closed due to a “problem” and to find another hotel. Zero communication and still a month later no explanation or reply to emails/messages or offer of compensation for ruining our trip.

If you have high standards, this hotel is not for you. We were disappointed on every level. We booked a comfort room which didn't feel cosy at all. It was looking at the parking so no nice view there. It was cold, no carpets on the ground, with old furniture, the bed didn't have any bedhead apart from the wooden frame around it. The drinks offered in the room included soluble coffee. The bathroom was very small. We were expecting some nice bath products since it's a bio spa hotel but we only got one product for everything. And we don't even know what exactly it was because it was in a metal container attached to the wall. Shortly after our arrival, we went directly to the spa. The spa area was ridiculously small and there was nowhere to sit or even drop our things. There were too many people and not enough chairs. It was quite loud, there was no music to create an atmosphere of relaxation and the swimming pool was separate from the spa so you had to get out of the spa to go swim which was inconvenient. When we got back to the room, we realised we didn't have any towels in the room and had to ask the reception to bring us a set. The food was overpriced for what was offered and despite the fact that we planned to eat our dinner at the hotel, we were not tempted at all by the menu and decided to go out. The breakfast was OK but it was exactly the same every day and there were no real warm food options apart from an omelette, some weirdly looking sausages and a morning soup. The hotel itself was standing next to the main road and every passing car was adding to the noise. So we didn't get our peace and quiet in the nature that we thought we'd get. Overall, we didn't find this was a 4-star hotel. It was not a good value for the money at all. We will never come back.
