How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful. The breakfasts were a real feast and set one up for the day! The location was spot on for sightseeing and shopping. Highly recommend you stay here!

Room could be cleaned with a little more care. For example the reusable water bottle on the desk that you could fill in the lobby was dirty inside. Shower wasn't cleaned (properly) But on average it was ok
Comfortable bed, nice decorated rooms. The host that received us was very helpfull and spoke english very well. A big 10 for him!

The rooms are very quiet apart from when the toilets are flushed and then the sounds of water galloping down the waste pipes are a little loud and the rooms at the front did get a little noise from passing traffic although I have to say I didn't notice it that much.
The rooms were fresh, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great, a good variety and again all very fresh. The staff were very helpful and I have to confess their English is much better than our French. No tea/ coffee/ water in the room but it was available 24/7 (free) from the breakfast area. The coffee was proper bean to cup, not instant and the tea was again good quality loose tea with tea pots or you could fill your own tea bag. Only a short walk to the old part of Laval which is a delightful place and the parks are beautiful.

Modern, clean & a great location The staff were very friendly & couldn’t do enough for you. A special mention to the manager Aline who gave us excellent suggestions to eat & places to visit and was always happy to help.

Ibis styles breakfast always included in price. Not ideal if the breakfast does not have anything for folk trying to move away from processed food onto a largely plant based diet. One bowl of apples insufficient. No fresh vegetables. Nuts. Seeds. Etc. Should be able to opt out if not able to provide a healthier breakfast.
Excellent location. Between train and historic area. Easy 5 to 10 min walks. Supermarket a few minutes walk Warm welcoming staff. The usual ibis styles brand. Rooms small but well designed. And always the super comfy bed and pillows. Window able to open for good ventilation. Seemed very quiet. Good nights sleep. Recommend but the price for me was not wonderful value for money.

I stayed one night in the IBIS in Laval on a cycle trip down the vélo Francette. Everything was very good and it was quiet

Only one chair in the room and having to park so far away.
The staff made us very welcome and answered all our questions fully. The room was comfy and clean the breakfast was varied with lovely fresh food.

Nothing,just a decent place to stay.
Very nice place,very easy to find,in the Town centre,and two minutes off the Velo Francette cycle route.Room was excellent,as was the shower,and I could secure my bike in the room,good choice at breakfast.

Clean, comfy. continental breakfast, fresh and tasty. Fantastic location. Parking is available on the road outside. Free from 6 pm until 9 am, otherwise reasonable fee. Drinks available from the restaurant area anytime. Slept very well
