How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI would definitely recommend this place to anybody! I have never stayed in a place so clean and well taken care of. Also very nice to know that part of the house is part of the old rampart of the town and from the 500! It is in a beautiful state! It is clear the friendly owner Christina, is a real hostess who would like to give her guest the best possible experience. And everything you need is available. The breakfast was exceptionally delicious with homemade bread, croissants and jams and other nice stuff presented with lots of attention to detail. For dinner we were too late to have dinner at her place, but she had very good recommendations and helped us with making a reservation. On the way back we noticed how beautiful it is located against the mountain, in this cute mountain village. We had the family room which was very spacious with very comfortable king size bed. Very nice the room with the two single beds, could be closed with a door when the kids were to bed. We were also here during a heat wave but the room was nicely cooled down with an aircon and extra fans available in the room. She also had lots of recommendations on what to do in the surroundings, we would love to come back one day and probably stay for a bit longer!
Nothing, it was a great place to stay! Next time we would love to stay longer. There was some talk about the shower in this room. It isn't a standard shower, since it is an authentic place. The shower is in the bath and under a sloping roof, we had no problems whatsoever standing up in the shower and we're tall Dutch people. With getting in you have to bend over a bit, however this is no problem for us and definitely not a reason for us not to like and come back to this place.

This town is beautiful. The hotel is beautiful. The owner/host is a fussy, pedantic, condescending person that is too so concerned about irrelevant issues that she made my wife so afraid to break her rules that she couldn't even take a bath. Beautiful place, beautiful hotel, beautiful person, but intolerably pedantic and intolerably controlling.
Thank you for your review, despite everything I am pleased you like my Bed and breakfast, this is the worst review I have ever received after 17 years. I have never had comments like it, and I will try and learn from it. I do understand your points. But I think there were misunderstandings on both sides! I had tried to contact you 3 days before your reservation through Booking.com, as I wanted to give you a larger room with an en-suite shower room, which I explain to you when you arrived, but I had no response from you and no time change. Your arrival 3 ½ hours earlier than your requested time of 4pm, which I had agreed to, did surprise me. I cannot remember anyone arriving that much earlier. The times are stated on Booking.com, and I replied (In the case of a different time, as our reception is not open 24 hours a day. Please contact us to discuss your arrival and departure time). So I was working to your time of 4pm. (Sometimes we are shopping for guests breakfasts and dinners or just taking time out etc). After checking which room you had booked, which luckily was ready, I welcomed you in. We provide a communal kitchenette with fridge. We ask guest to place all their items in bags provided, with their room name, (but it still does not always happen). If things are left loose in the fridge, other guests have thought these items were complimentary, and then I have been blamed for their disappearance, and some have expected replacements! It also helps when guests leave and forget things with a room named bag I can phone them and ask if they would like to come back for them or not. Usually temperatures here for the end of July are about 25 – 28 degrees. Your visit was in the middle of a heat wave, and even though we are up in the mountains it was 35 degrees, and some nights remaining hot. I explain so as not to overheat your room, it would be best to keep the window and shutter closed for the time being until the temperature dropped. Coming from Spain you are possibly used to higher temperatures than we are, we are not use to this, we were melting. I do sincerely apologise to you and your wife ( I am not sure if your wife understood me as she did not really speak to me, however your English is perfect), you felt I over emphasised, it was done with the best intentions. I really am so sorry that it spoilt your stay. Christina

Verified reviewThe place is very beautiful and clean, surrounded by nature. Every chamber have it's own style, we saw 3, and you fully rest there, excelent point to stay to go see the country by car. The hostress is a king woman that loves his job, you can feel it, will help in any thing you need, and the breakfast are fantastic. It's an old house in a old town, very cute ^^

Verified reviewWonderful host! She gave us so many suggestions what to visit around - we had great time at this location. Amazing breakfast, it was freshly baked and so delicious. Also the property itself: the room, the lounge zone and the terrace are very cozy and comfortable . Beautiful classical style - we loved it. And we liked a small shared kitchen with fridge and tableware.
